August 23, 201510 yr Author Still in the claims process. Will just end up being a re-powdercoat eventually. The curb damage I did on the bottom of my front bumper at Justin's today will be a much larger fix.
August 23, 201510 yr Author Some of the very good Audi turn out.And some othersOne for BrentAnd some for the VW crew.
August 23, 201510 yr Welding up 'o' ring grooves ?Yes, Leve. I found the cooper o-ringed gaskets to be too much work...leaked too often in my application. I push a bit of boost through a 406 C.I. motor.HS Those are some great pics, VPI. Particularly like the shot of the Cobra knock-off, aftermarket...whatever they're referred to as these days.HS

August 23, 201510 yr Author One more to show how screwed up that Subaru was.I would say at least a third of the tire makes no contact.
August 23, 201510 yr I guess I assumed that it was on bags and that at ride height looked a little/lot different.
August 23, 201510 yr Negative camber....A bit of negative camber is great for a road course. That crap hurts to look at.HS

September 6, 201510 yr I bought some stuff from Chemical Guys, got my windows tinted and replaced my rear view mirror, which had floating oil from the auto dimming feature. I also am considering replacing one of my headlight assemblies due to fogging plastic. Can I post here?
September 6, 201510 yr I have a few spots that have paint on them, where likely my wife scrapped up against our garage. Is there a recommended way to remove this? Is this what "clay bar" is all about?
September 6, 201510 yr No. Claying is a method to remove very small particles clinging to the finish. To remove paint, etc., try polish or polishing compound, in that order.
September 6, 201510 yr Believe it or not Marc, I've found the Mr. Clean eraser foam bar very effective at removing the rubbed on paint. You may then need to polish the spot to get the sheen back.
September 6, 201510 yr I'm not familiar with the Gunk brake cleaners (there are six different ones here), but most brake cleaners damage paint and other finishes and specifically warn about that on the cans.
September 6, 201510 yr What guzziguy said. I use different levels of polishes (more coarse to finner in series depending on nature of issue) from Griot's. I cannot recommend brake cleaner. It may dull your paint and it will fog plastic in my experience.I have a friend that swears by charcoal starter....a petroleum based product, but I have never tried that personally. Just watch to make sure you're not down past the foreign paint and down into some primer native to the vehicle's paint Good luck. HS PS i have had some joy with a microfibre cloth and rubbing alcohol on my boy's vehicle.
September 12, 201510 yr Author Made it back to the US in time for the last Katie's of the season, unfortunately it was kind of rainy, but the lighting was nice.
