February 6, 20179 yr Author The new sony headphone and dedicated amp/dac was a big win for me. Didn't like any of the Empire Ears CIEMs at all wanted to like the ZMF new headphone but in the meet setting just ok not worthy of laying down the cash for one until I hear more.
February 6, 20179 yr Utopias sounds damn good out of the GSX and the Sony Z1R headphone and HA-ZH1ES dac/amp was quite a nice and compact setup.
February 6, 20179 yr I accidentally spent the vast majority of my time at the meet in the Audio Precision room. Got some juicy measurements because I walked in with my vintage headphones as they were trying to measure various flagships. The measurement pdf they gave me for the ECR500 was the wrong one with messed up data, so I emailed them and they said their test gear was already being shipped back to Oregon so they'll send me the right pdf in a week, and then I'll post the full set here. Will post listening impressions later.
