Post the last thing you bought!

No, I know of/became interested in the Schick by reputation alone. Also, it's one of the few current-production arms I think matches well aesthetically with the TD-124. What turntable/related equipment did you hear the Schick with, if you don't mind me asking.

What cart are you planning to use?

Wow, congrats Al. I agree, the speakers look great.

I didn't buy any of it. Just went to a demo with JP in NYC. Awesome stuff that haunts me a bit. If I could only find $100K lying around unattended...

Under your bed, closet, tree out back? :)

i think the confusion might be from this being the "Post the last thing you bought!" thread.

Quote added for context, but the immediately preceding posts made it pretty clear.

I knew you'd make a crack as soon as I hit send. :palm::)

I figured the preceding posts caused you to make an impulse purchase. Mayberry needs a bathroom rig, right?

^ Interesting looking speakers. WAF rated as "Challenging" I'd expect. Did you show the pic's to Claire, Al?

Actually, Grahame, I think Claire would love the look and told her about them but haven't shown them to her. She loves good wood. >:D

Is it the speakers that cost so much? IIRC the OMA plinths are around $5000 if the user supplies the turntable mechanical parts.

At the moment, a DL-103 - mostly because it's fairly inexpensive as MCs go and the fact that the Schick is purposely designed for heavy, low compliance carts.

Damn, those are some sexy speakers Al posted. If I ever win Powerball (that I don't play), I'm getting a pair.

They're not the SACDs though if that's what's you're looking for. Not sure how big the difference is between Living Stereo CDs and SACDs, I've looked for information and didn't find anything useful.

Don't have a SACD player anymore so that won't be an issue for me, unless the redbook layer of Living Stereo SACD releases are different (better) than the regular Living Stereo CDs.

From what I've read, the mastering shoud be different on the redbook layer of the SACDs, but they also sell at 10$ each. I have a dozen of the SACD hybrids, so I'll be able to compare them.

The discs in that 60disc set are SACD hybrids? I have maybe two or three out of that, so I'm thinking it might be a good starter/sampler set for me :)

where is it imported from?

Looks like Korea?

I'll probably get one too.

Japan.

EDIT - It may very well be imported from Korea, though it was Japan-only release by Sony from what I've read.
