Head-Fi Update on Facebook

What I'm really, really looking forward to is having the marketplace back. I am a junkie for marketplace browsing. Not even buying, just the browsing I love.

x2 ;D

Same here. I hope they get all the pm's back, I was saving a whole bunch from some dude from Indonesia that sold me some Ety's and they came brand new from Etymotic here in the US, turns out he was buying them with stolen CC's and he put me down as the buyer.

That's pretty messed up. I hope you passed on that info to Jude and/or the mods before everything went down. Who was it?

Good news on the head-fi re-launch.

"looks like i won't exist" simply meant that, if the registration info isn't as up to date as possible, that he wouldn't have a registered user name on head-fi once it comes up.

I know.

The guy is banned, this happened about 2 years ago. I believe it was Ultimate Ears who found out who it was and told Jude about it, I guess he was trying to buy stuff from them as well. I was just saving the pm's just in case Etymotic went after me.

- We're still trying to reclaim the photo data (from photo.head-fi.org). This has been the second time this has happened, and, given the availability of good, free dedicated photo hosting services, we may discontinue photo.head-fi.org if we can not reclaim the photo data. (We ran into problems with this once before during a photo software upgrade, where our photo data was intact, but photos disassociated from the user profiles.)

Well, that's stupid. Wasn't the whole point of having the Photo Gallery was to have a searchable and unified photo gallery for people to be able to browse, not just use as a host for posting image links in threads?

And there goes one of the perks of being a contributor if true.

Yeah. I never used the galleries much for personal purposes. The large PM inbox was my main reason for contributing to be honest. The normal 100 just isn't enough.

I think the number was 125, but yah I agree 125 is just too small, although I've learned to make due since I stopped contributing.

I thought it was 200 in+out? :D

nope, it was 125, and yes it was damn annoying that the outbox counted agaist the PM number.

Oh yeah, that is right. Yep yep.

New update from 2 hours ago:

"still at the datacenter with the boys, everyone. If I can stay awake, we're going to work on getting the site up this morning. If I fall asleep, then this afternoon. We're a little bit behind schedule tonight (this morning)."

We're a little bit behind schedule ..........."

I'm glad he didn't lose his sense of humor .........
