What about Canon's DPP (with lens corrections) or Adobes DNG converter?

I actually like DPP, but I have many different Photoshop plug-in's that I need to use, so I would have to open the RAW in DPP, then use the "transfer to photosop" function, then use the plug-in's.  I already do this sometimes, but it takes much longer time than opening the RAW in PS to begin with, and having both DPP and PS open slows down my computer.  Not something I would want to do for every EOS-M file..

The more I think about it, if I ignore the low price of EOS-M, I KNOW I will not be using the EOS-M with EF lenses/adapter after the initial curiosity wears off.  Then there is really no reason to stick with Canon for the "pocketable" aps-c.    Since I kind of hate that old Canon 18 MP sensor's IQ relative to other companies' sensors, e.g. Fuji, Sony/Nikon, I think I'll pass on the EOS-M.  In the end, it'll be worth it for me to pay more $$ for a pocketable camera I can get excited about..

I certainly like the feel of the camera better than the S100, which I always thought was too small, but I do miss the controls of the S100.

I do not know where my S100 is but I will try to compare focus speed on the two, I think they are pretty similar.

The touchscreen does seem to work well.

I will try to take it out this afternoon to really try it out.

I do not know why the 18-55 kit shows up as being more expensive than the pancake kit since both lenses sell for the same price.  I definitely don't like working with such a slow lens.  Who wants a whole flower to be in focus when the D800 and 35 f1.4 can give me such nice blur?

Nice focus on both.

Beach and Ritz are $50 difference in lens prices. J&R is $30. Some like Adorama have a sale on 18-55 only that distorts the difference.

Will be interested if you see a difference in focus speeds between the two lenses.  I ordered from Amadora because Amazon was out of stock. Then after sending a shipping notice Amadora sent a backorder notice and removed the item completely from online catalog.  Then Amazon showed back in stock, so cancelled/reordered. We'll see what arrives Friday.

You know what I haven't done in bloody ages, like this entire calendar year?  Post any photos to this thread.  Here's a random sampling of what I've been up to for the last 6 months:
