Special Edition Zana Deux

Featured Replies

Please don't scare people like this.

Do you know that crazy people become extremely uncontrollable and lose all self-restraint when a manufacturer introduces a Special Edition?

It appears to be a unit with additional hi-lo impedance switch and nickel plated capacitors. (Front page)

Yes... it does...

I'm always surprised at the prices of these amps. Seems like it would be much higher...

couldn't be any more expensive and not use a wall-wart. Duh.

Pfffft, It still has those weird glass things on top.

Yes... it does...

Information you should have provided along with a direct link in your OP. So don't be sarcastic please.

yeah, what's up with that?

Don't worry, they're removable.

Ah the woes with foundation in the inherant limitations of internet-based textual intonation transmission.

Yes, but the only glass, removable things on the ZD are tubes. The :basement::basement::basement: was just poking fun too, not meant to be taken seriously. Still friends? :P

Yeah I know, hence the slow comment, and yes, we are still friends:rolleyes:

...:P;D

haha sorry. I was being sarcastic as well... or maybe it was directed at the OP. I forget.

Hasn't the ZD gone through a few iterations?

Who knows anymore:p

Yeah, the ZD has gone through a couple different iterations, mostly dealing with different rectifiers/damper diodes. I think the last revision resulted in some tweaked values in the power supply. This special edition, according to what Craig told me, will have a 3 ohm output for the low switch, and the hi switch is the stock ZD out of 12 ohm. Craig didn't tell me anymore regarding how its done or what the nickel plated capacitors are all about.

Seriously, who starts a thread about a specific item with no link?

Yeah, who does that!?

Zana's bass is amazing, but Yoshino is faster with delicacy that Zana can only dream of, so, just wonder what would this SE edition sounds like...
