OK, max about ~1.25 in-lbs, then.

This is 20 inch ounces, which is what my torque screwdriver is calibrated in. So I'll set it to 18 or so, that should give me a little margin, and still be pretty tight.

Many thanks.

I'm not sure if the 2sk216 that I bought off Ebay are real. What do you think? Is there any simple way to test to see if they are real or fake?

DSC_2018.jpg

It looks remarked on 2SK213,214,215 or counterfeit.

1. Hitachi logo is slightly different.

2. Date code format is strange. “912”? Probably they misread “9 I2” (9=1989 or 1999 I =Sep) when they copied.

3. Font is same as my other counterfeit transistors.

The fake K216(left)in the picture is from Israel. Seems he is getting different version of K216 from HKG distributor now.

Simple test: Use it to the T2: If blowup it was fake, stop use it.mellow.png

Well, thanks for confirming they are fake. I'll just order new ones then. Could you recommend a good and reliable source to order from?

Wachara C.

I can tell you to avoid utsource. The K216 they sent me were different from their image on the website, and were clearly counterfeit.

The logo looks fake to me. Real Hitachi logos don't look like that. That looks laser-etched, and they didn't get the logo right. Google image search "hitachi transistor" and compare, I don't see any logos that look like that one.

I wonder if there is a way to contact Hitachi, you'd think they'd be interested in fighting counterfeits- although maybe at this low level it might be below their radar.

Hitachi doesn't make these devices anymore, I would doubt that they would care at all.

I've just placed an order with Pacificsemi, and I hope I get the real things this time. :(

No. Pacificsemi has fakes as well. They are tempered devices that have the front scrubbed and reprinted. Cancel your order!

The same treatment has been applied to both J74 and K216, so I'm guessing both stock are fakes.

Damnit I just ordered all those transistors from there last night. :( sent them an email we'll see what happens.

I have an inquiry in with a Renesas distributor (they will be buying them direct from Renesas, so they will be genuine), they said they will get back to me on the minimum purchase quantity for K216 and J79. If it's not too big I can do a GB for these parts.

Would definitely be interested in that. Thanks Deepak.

Ditto. One can never have too many parts... :)

Hopefully Renesas' minimum purchase quantity ain't too bad. :)

Definitely put me down for a K216/J79 GB. You rock sir.

Anyone doing a dynafet from the latest GB might also be interested in those...

I'd be interested in the group buy as well

Just received an email from Pacificsemi confirming that they have shipped out 2sk216. It's too late to cancel the order with them now. :(

I'll let people know, but I have a sinking feeling I will get a reply saying minimum quantity they can order from Renesas will be 1000 or more.
