May 16, 201016 yr i know some knife-ee people are going to attend. i was thinking about bringing a couple knives and a stone or two to show people but, if there is enough interest, i'll bring my whole kit (along with my poor scratched up 5.5 Shun santoku for practice) and have a little workshop on japanese knife sharpening. the only rule is no drinking with 2 hours of knife handling. does this sound worthwhile? Peter has that Edge Pro sharpener. Pretty neat, he made my Wustof paring knife insanely sharp. Although we won't be bringing any knives on the plane, of course. -Ed

That way it all gets done during daytime so no one loses valuable party and drinking hours. hmmmmm ... maybe Jeff, Vicki, Mike, and others can set up a gun table right next store. Yes, I like it. May 17, 201016 yr how far up the grit scale do you go? there are companies that cut water stones to size for the edge pro, might be something look into. Yeah, at some point. I've got the kit that goes up to 1000 grit. It gives a nice mirror finish to the edge bevel, but not so finely that the scratches are completely invisible.

May 19, 201016 yr Canjam is unfortunately out for me this year, much as I want to meet everyone. Family has to take precedence and even 3 days away would be considered too much for reasons I wont get into here.
