  2. With help of above Mini Hot Plate I managed to build another three small regulators. Here they are on a “motherboard” with rectifiers and electrolytics to achieve 12VCD. The trimmers are for adjusting output voltage, 2.5V for 2A3 and 5V for 300B. Now I want a regulator for 6,3V and 7.5V. The buck converter above is limited to 5.5V, so might try LMQ66430. @Shawn What inductor did you use with LMQ66430?
  3. Part 2 just dropped: Part 1, if you don't know it:
  4. Sending a hug your way @skullguise.
  5. Carina Messier - Nowhere And No When. Lovely dream-pop with a tiny Psych injection. The band behind her (some? all?) are members of The Lost Patrol, a band an acquaintance manages/managed. Example:

  7. Spent the 4th up in Maine, our condo association had a mini-parade of kids and golf carts (~ a dozen carts, several made up quite well); also a pic of my next-door neighbor Michelle and her two - used to have 4 - Samoyeds, beautiful pups! Also visited one of Karen and my favorite places, Cape Porpoise....sat and contemplated life a bit there.
  8. Was going to put these in the Slow Forum thread but figured we could use some kitty posts
  9. Well Hello Stern Grove SF Symphony in the grove! Ukulele hero antics from Taimane Hoops and "herbal" wafts, because SF.
  10. a) this looks great, b) a serving alternative would be that once it returns to a boil, add (white) rice equal to a little less than 1/2 the liquid volume (about a cup and a half for the written recipe) and stick it (covered) into the oven (350F) for about 20 minutes. I'd probably add a touch of salt, too.
  11. We went to Musaafer in the Galleria (Indian). It had been a few years and I have to say they have upped their game which was not too shabby previously. We went the tasting menu route and had to take the main dishes to go we got so full....first world problems. Here are a few of the dishes. HS
  12. Took a ride in a Jaaaag from the future, to solve the last mile problem.
  13. Stern Grove picnic, with a few city friends
  14. 4 Hours of Imola - race highlights (European Le Mans Series):
  15. I have the audiovisual for that above pic, yessir i do. Starts with pops hauling crates, making noises down in the garage, real early like. Pregnant pause before he walks in from the kitchen door and i look up real doe-like. Queueing the audio in in my imaginary mixer: Son? Yes sir? We've got work to do today, eat that breakfast. Yessir! And don't discuss any of this with your mother, you hear me?
  16. No sir/madam, have not. In-ears just aren't for me, though i have of course read impressions/seen relevant DIY threads here for amplification. * you could call me old school on that one, but.. dispersion and propagation have their very distinct set of rules. You do not bend time within the human experience field, you do not bend space; and they do require both! ** but i'm an old fart, so yes, there is the possibility i'm missing out! As to EQing, again, call me a dinosaur, but how do we EQ? By compressing first. Physics. Would i want to do that to my sound signal (degrading) so i can then play with said degraded signal some more? Personally no, though i do understand its allure. I try to stick to hardware EQing, costs more, but i dare say it's worth the time and effort. Even sticking to the digital domain as one primarily does, when talking about electrostats. We agree on tuning, i hear you.. I fear it's a correlation of factors beyond our control.. 1) see recent recording "trends" (vastly cheaper, switching power supply based crappola recordings, "heard" on vastly cheaper pseudo-'monitor' headphones). 2) see recent listening trends; digi-can samples cooked on a Mac, expected to be heard from an iPhone. 15K total recording costs? Yes, why spend more. 3) see recent types of music; minimal number of instruments (if any real ones at all), specific frequency fields -mids- they operate at. Does a "high end" audio company follow suit? Can it? Not sure if that's a solveable one! And my humble apologies for perhaps typing too much, by all means send an expletive or two my way, shall rectify accordingly in the future, lol
  17. Barely 30' before the race, it's raining and they're warming up on "intermediate" rain tires; the green band ones. I'm not sure Max is the best on wet track.
  18. Lewis gonna send it in the rain, if his team let's him. Maybe Kimi will take out Max again to make sure he gets out of his contract.
  19. Today's race is going to be fun, especially if it rains, which very likely will do.
  20. I used to hate him with begrudging respect for his skill, which is immense. Now I can see how good of a step-dad he is (respect), prolly gonna be a good dad (see above,) and most importantly, he has a miniature dachshund named Nino. His dog is definitely superior to him in every way other than driving, but now I can just dislike him whilst rooting against him and Red Bull, and everyone who had a hand in fucking over DR3.
  21. Like him or not, Max is a legend. https://youtu.be/d5wyPynDBxc?si=vq7t9GhkhBA9uPko

  23. Brit Picnic @ https://nativeplants.org/
  24. I put that in my queue yesterday. Looking forward to listening.
