Is it possible to change smiley code from [/php] to something else? Every time I put a date [php](1978) or (1988) it changes to this (1978). Some goes for listing items 1) 2) .... [/php]Looks like this 1) 2) ... Not a big deal but can be frustrating when you notice this after editing time expired.

The pinned thread “post pics of you builds” has disappeared or at least I cannot see it.

Perhaps this will be an interesting idea.. is it possible to create a up/down rating system to downrate trolls and uprate people who contribute useful information? It could be as simple as another number called "karma" in addition to postcount that's displayed.. users could perhaps choose to give or take this away. I know digg / slashdot uses this, and some forums also have this.. though I cant think of a high traffic site that does this, this forum has a similar system.. http://www.chiefdelphi.com/forums/index.php? My eyes don't like the way the forums are listed on the main page. There are numbers for the number of threads and the number of posts in each forum, but there's nothing to line them up with the forums... maybe horizontal delimiters would help?

For some reason when I embed a gallary image I cannot get the flash-based imaged viewer to load the image when I click on it. It would help if you could type in to go directly to a particular page rather than having to advance a couple pages at a time. Maybe that's already available but I haven't been able to access it.

Can we have a "misc" or "synergy" forum? I wouldn't know where to put something like an Audio Analogue Enigma/K1000 thread (AAE is an all-in-one system...with tubes!) or a Stax system (both amp and speakers) or a "how does this system sound" thread. I think "Miscellaneous" would be fine for these purposes. ...or maybe a "master gear" forum.

In a recent thread of mine, a few simple diacriticals were omitted, like an umlaut over the lowercase letter "A". Does the current forum software allow adding additional character sets? It's a rather minor complaint, but it couldn't hurt.

Is there an easy to way add Spoilers. so that people would have to click a button in order to show the stuff inside the tag, click it again to hide it again?

It returns me to the forum root instead of the thread I was posting in. Perhaps this could be an option at least, where I post, and it keeps me in that thread? -Ed

I'm getting an error message "[#CHAT-03] You do not have access to our chat room" when i try to use the chat. I assumed i got banned for something, but i was told that none of the admins remembered banning me (well, this is the first time i've been banned, ever, if i was). So.. can i have chat access back, if i wasn't banned? If i was banned, its fine, i probably did something i shouldn't have - its the uncertainty that bothers me.

The GIF tab when posting doesn't seem to be working any more. No matter what I search for, it now says that there are no search results. Not critical but it's odd that it worked up until recently. 🤷🏼‍♂️

I don't know if the idea would be frowned upon, but there are some good things to be found on Craigslist that are not local, and many of us have run into them, so the obligatory "someone buy this for me" thread is made. Just wondering if there is a way to search users' locations to facilitate who we can contact for help. Come to think of it, most users have this info incomplete, so perhaps it wouldn't be practical to begin with... Hmmm.

I recommend that people should be able to change their own avatar. I can't seem to be able to do that. I don't want to be stuck with this stupid llama forever.

I'm still trying to think through ways to keep this forum different from another place we know. Right now, the level of discourse here is much higher than at that other place, in part because we are confirmed hobbyists, without a large influx of newbies stumbling over us. That is likely to eventually change, though, and I think we should try and find ways to keep forums focussed on sound, particularly the high end. So, as a start, how about a forum titled "What should I buy?" or "Is this the right gear for me?" or something along those lines.
