First thing I put on was the radio, and it was all brimstone and fire -- in terms of how strongly they were warning us against going out and driving in the snow -- looked outside, it wasn't snowing yet, so immediately went and ran the one errand I needed to run today. By the time I got home about an hour later, one couldn't see the streets or parking lots -- the ground was cold enough from the past two days of single digit temperatures that it started sticking immediately, even when being driven on. And I was skidding all over the place, so went straight home and am staying here. Will cook some, clean some, practice some, and laze some. Started with the lazing.
  2. Comcast screwed up my on Demand feature for 11 days and I screamed bloody murder (like the spoiled baby that I am). They took $50 off of my bill and comped 3 months of Showtime (already have HBO and Starz). As a result, I've been gulping down Homeland 3 or 4 episodes a night. Between that and catching up on the last season of The Walking Dead, I'm convinced that ISIS is the result of a contagion.

  6. ^^ there was a blurb i read somewhere that claimed the shm cds were less hot, probably from the master tapes. i ordered what if and night of the living dregs shms. will report back. the cheap remaster cds are definitely hot. i think those are the only shms they did.
  7. I have the S3/5SE's here and they are lovely speakers. I read at some point that they are inspired by their BBC namesakes but the cabinets turned 90° and the baffle isn't screwed in place. Also biwire from the age when that was all the rage.
  8. Nils Landgren & Esbjorn Svensson - 2001 - Layers of Light In case someone wants a free listen it's available at Spotify

  11. Hi All: We are slightly ahead of schedule. I have received all but one confirmation payment so I went ahead and placed our order with SeeedStudio. I am happy to confirm that we have secured the free-shipping discount and I have received order confirmation e-mail from SeeedStudio. As I mentioned in my earlier post, it's Chinese New Year break over there and their normal work schedule will resume around next Tuesday, Feb. 24. I will post updates on this thread to keep everyone informed of the progress and status. Also, I checked with USPS and found out that they have a flat-rate, padded envelope, priority mail option which comes with tracking and $50 insurance for domestic US shipping. It ends up being about $1 more than the USPS first class mail option that I have originally planned to use. This only applies to the continent US shipping address. I suggest we use this service for those with US shipping addresses. PM me if you have objections. For the non-US location, I will have to wait till we receive the boards for USPS to weight the package and quote me shipping charge. Best!
  12. Sorry, but you just lost all credibility with that one. FTMFL!
  13. if I have time I plan on looking into the screws issue on Monday.
  14. Went to see this: http://www.londontheatre.co.uk/londontheatre/news/ltg14/boa14583.htm Tiny central London theatre seats 100, and a stage the size of a living room. Absolutely awesome to see world class acting that close. Boa is the nickname of Harriet Walter's character - no idea why they did publicity photos with a snake.
  15. Spent all day in my office trying to get rid of papers and other junk so I'll eventually have room to move Tim's papers and junk into my office. My guess is that I have 2-3 more days of work in my office before I can start on Tim's office. The work never ends...
