  1. I use it as a preamp in my office system and I really have zero complaints. The tech is really nice to have and sound quality is great.

  2. I use the preamp out to drive a pair of $100 M-Audio computer speakers. Video games sound great. seriously no issues but I can't make any comments on fidelity given the speakers.

  3. Bryan, I'm using it now as a preamp in my speaker system. Takes digital in from a Sony SACD (for 16/44) and a laptop, and analog in from my Sony HAP-Z1ES. Preamp out to Job 225 amp, and Gallo Strada 2/TR-1 speakers. Overall, can't complain at all; I think it was JP# that said this was stupid good for the $, and I agree. Maybe it's a pre-read review biasing me, though, but I like the headphone out a bit more than the preamp outs. Resolution is great, but it sounds a bit lean in the mids and can get a bit brittle on top. NOTHING at all bad, I never feel the need to turn it off; but not as good as some of the better I've had/heard; and I don't get that sense from the headphone out. Apples to oranges, of course.... That review I allude to mentioned that headphone out is a class A design, and the pre outs have opamps in the path. Could be the reason, or again may just be pre-bias. I have a 1/4" to L/R RCA adapter cable, I need to try that at some point to drive the amp, and compare to regular pre out. Just haven't bothered so far except for an early test using another power amp.

  4. Now I'm getting to listen....have to say only mildly impressed. I think she's a great talent and records well, but the EMOTION of the music is a little.....sterile.....to me. Maybe it's just because Billie Holiday did things SO well..... Certainly interesting, some good alternative adaptations.....but not sure I'd pull this out too often.....maybe I will need to listen more, we'll see. EDIT: as I listen more, I like it a bit more. Though still not as a comparison to the originals, but as a standalone piece of music. I read that the band has some of Nick Cave's Bad Seeds in it, it definitely shows. EDITED EDIT: Now listening to Riva Nyri Precil - Perle de Culture. A nice eclectic blend with strong Haitian and African influences. Love the voice, and music is fun and interesting!

  5. And the episode after that -- the funeral episode, "The Return of the Golden Child" -- is even better. And the episode after that -- the German Cuisine episode, "Moss and the German" -- is even better. I don't think I can take much more hilarity. I relate the most with Richmond, by the way. "What funeral?"

  13. Well, I plan on getting the black sports one. I've become a bit addicted to activity trackers (wearing a vivosmart currently, which syncs with my garmin edge), and this seams to offer the best those have to offer plus a bit more. My only concerns are the battery life when using the features i like and how accurate the HR meter will be.

  14. Saw Death of a Salesman, RSC Stratford on Avon, today; Athony Sher and Harriet Walter, actors of the highest calibre. Awesome. http://www.rsc.org.uk/whats-on/death-of-a-salesman/ And while I'm on the actor thing, daughter has just nailed a three month tour as Titania and Helena in Midsummer Night's Dream and also as Mary Bennet in Pride and Prejudice. http://www.chapterhouse.org/
