This is my wife's cogitation station. Supposedly it's a real one, but not sure how you would tell either way.

Steve and I cut a window out of the wall today so I can put in a ~12" deep medicine cabinet. In the process, we got a good look at the structure of the wall which is steel lath, about an inch of concrete, and then some plaster. Overall, a very messy experience. The wall ate my oscillating tool, but we got through with an angle grinder. The first pic shows the tile, and the wall before the cut (that's the existing hole from the old cabinet) the second is the piece we removed.

I'm caught up now through episode 6 which aired last night and covered the Tet Offensive and the first half of 1968. Boy, it took a few episodes but the series has really grabbed me. I went to bed last night feeling ashamed to be an American. 1968 really was a terrible year. The futility and waste of everything that had happened up to that point coupled with the realization that the war still has another FIVE YEARS left to run is pretty crushing. I feel terrible for the suffering of the people of South Vietnam.

The most beautiful tile I've ever set! Its hard to see but the tile is slightly concave. Doug is becoming a natural tile setter.

Yes, the drivers were glued to the baffle on all my sets. No pics as I didn't take any but as soon as you open them up there should be a very dried out adhesive ring.

Just to point out that the PBS Video app has all 10 episodes up now, in both the broadcast version, and the explicit language version. The Colonel Kurtz quote seems appropriate.
