  1. Dying for things to dry out a bit, but mother nature is conspiring against me - the forecast for tomorrow is either rain or snow...

  4. Yes - indeed it was. But there is implicit copyright in a work of creation, such as an electronic design - the design does not need to be registered to be owned. And that agreement to uphold implicit copyright internationally is called the Berne Convention. One of the signatories to the Berne Convention is China. In fact it is more difficult to find a country who is not a signatory. So it is entirely possible to pursue the plagiarising assholes though international agreements that have been in place for over a century (China signed up to this is 1992). Initially to send them a Cease and Desist order.

  5. Just sent them this comment, with the subject Ripoff Scum: You stole this design from Kevin Gilmore and claim it as your own! Cao ni ma, touqie de hundan!

  7. This continuing ripoff of the generous sharing of past designs has to be disheartening. I sincerely hope The Stax Mafia will make future DIY designs and boards available in some form or manner to select DIYers.

  8. Ahh yes, yet more people taking our work and passing it off as their own. That is not a clone, it certainly uses our boards. This right here is why none of the new amps will be released to the public. I'm all for DIY but clones of my stuff, with my pictures on Taobao? Nope, not having any of that shit...

  9. Looks like you need to start claiming your home as partial business use. Maybe an ultra exclusive gym with one member?

  10. It was lovely. It's supposed to snow on Monday. I'm pretty excited about that blade. It is, so far as I am aware, unique - it is a 40 tooth flat top grind with a precise 0.125" kerf meant for doing joinery. Every other flat top blade is either a ripping blade with fewer teeth and a less precise kerf, or has an 8" diameter and is wider.

  13. On high Z, the L2 has a Zout of something like 50 Ohms. The headphones have an impedance of 80 Ohms at 1KHz, but 300 Ohms at 50Hz. That means there is a voltage divider with the headphone Z and amp Z. So, if there is a 1V signal, at 1K about 38% (50/(50+80)) of that signal is lost to the amp's impedance, and the other 62% goes to the phones. So you are left with a 0.62V. At 50Hz, the amp is still 50 Ohms but the phones are 300 Ohms. That means they get 86% of the signal. That's nearly a 3dB boost at 50Hz. Hence too much bass.

  15. Filed my 2017 taxes and remember that I really screwed myself by forgetting to pay my property taxes until January of 2018. This is especially bad since they change the 2018 so that you are limited to deducting $10K on your taxes (and my 2018 property taxes are already going to be around $18K). FML.
