  1. Ok, I'll take it easy on you. No one but you knows which three amps you're trying to compare. Naming manufacturers is not specific and technically, Pete's not a manufacturer. He has, at times, produced commercial products under at least two names (Wheatfield and Apex) and has also published numerous DIY designs. At least a couple use 6080 (or pin-similar) tubes on the output. Woo has made so many amps I couldn't begin to guess which you're talking about but I don't have schematics for any of them. I'm not going to give any thought to Darkvoice.\ Second point - if you want DIY advice that's fine. Asking us to compare commercial designs isn't a great start.
  2. I’m back to the Travis Bickle look (as of Sunday, so since those pictures), and someone just asked me the greatest question: “do they charge you more or less for that haircut?”
  3. Finished paying off my ex. Celebrating tonight!
  4. A loaner gears from Matrix & Violetric arrived yesterday. Justin's goodies including the GS-X MKII & Gilmore lIte MKII alonge with Audeze LCD-X will be delivered today. I'm excited for the meet. Meet won't be the same without Brent, Justin, and Collins though. Doug showing up this weekend with be awesome!

  10. Lacking brisket, I grilled a tri-tip instead. It’s more CA anyway. Went OK.
  11. And who are you again?
  12. it may have been cute when schiit came out with its original batch of cheap shit. all sorts of compromises necessary to produce something for $149 But now we have schiit competing with massdrop competing with monoprice, producing seriously compromised product for prices approaching $700. All sorts of issues including virtually no class A output power, split rail power supplies, low component life due to some really high chassis temperatures, noisy external switching power supplies and flyback switchers internally. Throw away product for sure. When you can buy real products from real companies for $500 or less.

Am I just reading this wrong?
  14. In my opinion it has a detachable cable, but it's just an opinion ;-)

  16. Harvested an old Cardas Headphone cable to make a balanced cable for the HD800. Neutrik 4-pin XLR connectors. The HD800 connectors are from Parts Connecxion and a royal PITA to work with.
