Hello guys, after a long time, and with a lot of time in my hands due to quarantine I finally finished my Dynalo MK2 mini and reterminated my hd650 with a 4 pin balanced plug.
Transistors are a bit hotter than I wanted, at 90-100 degrees with the top panel on. I need to go read about reducing bias.
Sounds good though! Source at the moment is a bluesound node, need to go and find a better DAC with balanced out that doesn't break the bank.
Iām trying to finish re-flow oven in my spare time when normal people are sleeping, lol.
Itās missing insulation, servo arm and thatās about it. A little touch up to the truck bed liner paint as well.
continuing some of the post-rock from earlier this week...
Yndi Halda - Under Summer
their first album, Enjoy Eternal Bliss, is another personal favorite. i've listened to this follow-up before but it's been a couple years
i haven't touched my french presses for 4-5 months now and have been meaning to try out the Hoffman French Press method. happened to have some crap beans this week that i ordered from amazon (meant to only clean my grinder out after i use some capsules) and i tried pour over with them yesterday... utterly terribly. well a decent finish but still pretty bad.
so i went with this 'unpressed' french press style for the same beans this morning and it definitely turned out better! very acceptable. better balance and some nuttiness. on par or slightly-better with any basic drip i'd get from a good cafe and that is a great result considering the beans i'm using. and ironically it's easier to clean out the press afterward because the filter needs a 5 second rinse rather than a full cleaning out of residue and oil.
So beautiful ... my entry point was Citizen of Glass, so I like her older stuff and her newer stuff in the same way that I like older Tom Waits and newer Tom Waits.
Apparently the OP in that photo rotates speakers on a fairly regular basis, and he really loves his PrimaLuna Dialogue tube monoblocks. The speakers in the photos are Totem Acoustic Hawks.
63KG, 32 tube Audio Research D250 power amplifier. Classic AR frumpiness.

Well, the rabbit hole opened. I bought one of these https://gamages.london/watch/limited-edition-moon-phase-automatic/?attribute_pa_color=rose&variation_id=2510
But I bought it brand new, boxed and 5 year guaranteed from an auction house for £95 (plus 20% seller premium plus 20% VAT for £138). Still a helluva bargain for a mechanical watch. Bit of a beast though at 43mm diameter and 15mm thick.
