  1. Oh, unholy carp, I actually remembered to take my blood pressure before and after the lesson. Before: 137/86 After: 126/71
  2. I had another vocal lesson today. It didn't go well (mostly because I was too busy following the election results to think about anything else), but she's so positive and encouraging, that it was still an excellent lesson. I am now more motivated than ever to practice every day.
  3. my first brew day in a very long time. just a kit from a box, to get reacquainted with the process.
  4. Cheers team, thanks for the wishes. It was a regular work day. But sushi supper and Scotch is a good thing. And I have tomorrow off.. ;} Cheers
  5. Oh, don't bother raising a glass to me. I still can't carry a tune in a bucket, but I do feel much better about it.
  6. Sure. You want a pair? Or one?
  7. Here is a (my) version of Kevin’s opamp RAAL driver. Board is kitchen made. Some parts are smd but schematic is same as original. Only one channel working and it’s powered by lab power supply max 3A. Occasional when playing, not very load , leds indicating max current hit are flickering. But I've two 340W Mean Well supplies at hand. Mouser don't sell them supplies to ordinary consumers in Europe so my wife bought them for me. Lucky me.
  8. A Grahameburger and fries - the bacon.
  9. I've got a really lengthy post I need to make in here about my work with Luminar 4, which I have been putting off for months now. L4 is currently part of a bundle on HIB. It's a fun, if rather buggy app. It has helped me breath life into some mid 00s photos that I took when I knew very little.
  10. Happy Birthday and here’s to tomorrow!
  11. Preferably a pair. I'm more of a listener than measurer. Different experiment, actually. Raal will be differential.
  12. Don't break anything this time around.
  13. I wish we had a thumbs up option. "Like" is too weak to attach to that Pie diatribe. Brilliant as usual, and makes the point that even dictatorships are remaining silent regarding the orange menace's defeat. And on behalf of the rest of the non-dictatorial world - hoo fucking ray! Bye bye to Trump and his miserable cohort of acolytes, and welcome to someone who is actually presidential.
  14. Beautiful! Downtown Fairfax is one long party! Haven't felt this good in a long time!
  15. Got outside for another bike ride. Was able to enjoy the color orange in a different way than the past few years.
  16. Looks reasonable for framing with 2x4's, but probably not for "wood working". The Incra fence above is accurate, and adjustable, to 1/1000"
  17. RIP dancer Dave Toole https://alanlaneblog.wordpress.com/2020/10/17/remembering-the-impossible-dave-toole/ https://www.theguardian.com/stage/2020/oct/28/david-toole-obituary
  18. Oh, man. This makes me sad. XIII is one of my favorite single player FPSes from back in the day (the early 00s was a very happy time for such things.) It had a slew of voice actors, including David Duchovny (who phoned it in, TBH) and the late, great Adam West (who absolutely nailed it.) A remake just came out and it's absolute hot garbage. Nearly as bad as the horrible WarCraft III: Reforged cash grab. I won't be buying it any time soon, possibly ever. At least there's a decent version of the original XIII on GOG.
