Looks like y’all got some fun projects going. Before I could do anything else I need some HVAC in the shop since it’s getting hot and humid. Put this 26,000 BTU Mr Cool in yesterday/today. Pretty darn easy DIY install. So far it’s cooling great.

Started with this then made it look like this then decided to play with chemicals then made it look like this via a probably Doug approved implement called a card scraper, then put the first coat on! probably will do another coat, might sand between coats? I am not sure what is recommended with this Osmo stuff… But; it looks ok! - I found out that if you get bubbles in the epoxy it’s doesn’t quite work to just put another layer on top. Also the really shallow flaws didn’t hold the epoxy well. I kinda wanted a contrasting jet black color in the various cracks and crannies and it looks pretty decent! There were some knotholes that went all the way through the plank and those took the epoxy really well.

You should be aware, I think most things are shit. 🙂 Because they are of course. I think people think the flashy screen makes a nice interior for the Ram, but said screen shuts itself off regularly and then freezes up. Then the Heads Up display is designed for the typical big truck driver 5’4” with self esteem issues. Sitting with the seat in its lowest position I can only see the bottom of the speed so I need to dig through the billions of poorly laid out menus to see if it can be adjusted. The ridiculous fake wood inlay in the most useful part of the steering wheel is also a stupid as fuck design as you will have zero grip if you actually need to try to aggressively maneuver the truck. Now my side mirror decides to not return to the home position after being in reverse so I have to adjust it every time I put the truck into drive from reverse. Add that to the underpowered rattle trap motor and I have no idea how they had the money to pay off mags to get truck of the year multiple times.

I've had that setup, with a Thinkpad, for 3 years.

I am having trouble calling it a Tonneau cover, when compared to the garbage one that comes from Ram. Probably should have a better name than those poorly engineered tissue paper models. I will call this a bed defender.

Nice! Steve and I used a torch to draw up the air bubbles in the epoxy and that works well. I really didn't like Osmo but it looks good there. I bought this Woodpeckers Super Fence months ago, received the package weeks ago, opened it finally last week to find out they sent only a single piece of Super Track by mistake. They sent me the actual fence and I got to keep the super track for my trouble. Anyway, this went together very easily, and now I have to set up another router to rout my router table. This very meta effort will create channels for the tracks to hold the Super Fence.

If only the vehicle could also haul things 🤔

I'm jealous, but for me having just bought the 2018 11" cousin to what you cast aside, it's a nice step up from any ipad I've used previously and for once, actually impresses with it's ability to function rather than simply waste time.

A friend of mine who isn't Knucks also does a weekly radio show, albeit on Tuesday nights and oriented towards contemporary and all the way back to the 80's darkwave/shoegaze/post hardcore/etc. that I think a lot of you lot might enjoy almost as much as I do. The new F-150 interior and tech is light years ahead of the Ram garbage. I feel the interior is a big step back in getting stuck with this thing over the Platinum F-150.

The Ford interior of the Raptor is crap, especially when moving from a BMW, I’m really hoping the Raptor R coming out next year makes up for this ones shortcomings. Other than that I’ve been happy with it as a daily driver.

That’s what I have, love it, so easy to open and close. Have built in “bed extenders” and ratchet straps for when things don’t fit. All quick and easy.

@TMoney: Your battlestation photo is disturbingly lacking in headphones and a slick amplifier 😁 But I’m with you on this. I’ve been low-key trying to replace my Mac laptop with my iPad (and I don’t have one of the new ones, just an OG Pro from 2015) and an external keyboard. It’s close. I personally could probably jump ship if an upcoming version of iPadOS has (1) a Unix shell and (2) background processes. It seems like something Apple could bless us with. I’d also love external storage slots, but they’re not strictly necessary.

The recent outcry over the MQA scam, and Tidal’s complicity in it, probably should be mentioned on this thread. This video started it a couple of weeks ago.

I spent the afternoon working from the iPad attached to my thunderbolt 3 dock. It is remarkable how close this thing is to being a desktop replacement. If WWDC brings us a little more love for iPad OS and the ability to run full MacOS apps like office then I could see totally replacing a laptop with the iPad Pro. Having a monitor, mouse, keyboard, DAC, ethernet, and power all connected via a single cable to a thunderbolt dock feels like the fucking future.

you might look at Souriau Quik lock connectors (SMS series) for HV application, haave used them in equipment for 40 years, great stuff. Picked up the new hotness today. Holy moly this thing is big coming off the 2018 11”. The keyboard case was expensive but it feels great. HDR on the new screen is stunning. Nearly LG-OLED-like blacks and eye-searing brightness. All that is missing is Apple letting us run full desktop-Mac apps on this thing!

Those big Tannoys really need two subwoofers to fill out the bottom end? There are five cat deterrent spray cans on the system, so I'm guessing they have had issues with those furry fiends.

The lady with the Diamondback actually had the tool box sitting in back as well so got that installed as well to hold straps, hitches, etc.
