Got the single stitch taken out of my eyeball today. Tested vision at 20/15. Everything is healing spectacularly.

Today already feeling much better, just a tiny bit of vague soreness and tightness in my jaw on that side. The endodontist wrote me an rx for norco but I just took some ibuprofen last night instead.

Picked up mom and her husband (Bones) at the airport. First time in Seattle for them! They got in at 1am there time so I let them sleep then went back to work. Bought some last minute tickets to Mariners vs Rockies. Me, mom, Bones, and the kids. We had so much fun, and I'm poor now. Seats behind home plate + sooooooooo many souvenirs. The. Cookout with my new grill. Not a bad day, even if it did take my life savings.

I've only had one root canal done. I'm not nervous about dental work, and wasn't for this either. But three two hour sessions in the chair was pretty full on. The first session was emergency work to stabilize it and shove some sort of disinfectant in there. It will improve Fitz, and the feeling of having your jaw feel as it has been kicked by a horse will quickly go. I honestly have lost track of the number of crowns I've now got.

I have had more than my share of crowns and root canals done. Nothing fun about it but mostly I have been knocked out and ultimately amazed that it wasn't worse. I hope your recovery goes well.

I really think you might be better served by the newer more compact version, and they would ship from Canada, but they are yours if you want them.

I think I've got 4 unpopulated from the original group buy in May 2011. But they might not be particularly useful given the project advanced a long way after that.

Not exactly cooking, but whipped up a giant batch of quacamole. Took a bunch of it up to the Cascade compound. Al has a large group of followers up there today. He may or may not include quacamole and IPAs in his sermon.

Hello. I upgraded the amplifier on a green board from Kevin Gilmour (as recommended alexcp) and compared it with the big black Chinese road (the circuits are the same). There are differences, but so far they are insignificant (I compare them on headphones, hereinafter as preliminary). The fact that now it is not heated like an iron is a big plus. After 2 hours of wiretapping, the preference is of course the reworked one.

I had this pair, and it works VERY well.....ultimately, still a bit of artificial edge to the Utopia's for my taste, but they really are something special! I gave up some of that ultimate transparency in getting the Clear, but tonally it matched my taste a bit better. Still an incredible headphone, and the ecp amp is spectacular with it!

I am currently running them through the GS-X MK2 and the treble is straddling that fine line between hotness and resolve. I have a DIY Beta22 and it's a bit better in this regard, the treble is not as resolving but the attack/edge/bite is softened a bit. Justin told me that the GS-X Mini is supposed to sound warmer and may be a better fit with the Utopia. There is also @dsavitsk's DSHA-3F that's supposed to be a great pairing with the Utopia but I haven't heard this personally.

Just before they pulled the patch off of my eye, they told me that more times than not, your vision won't be fully matured for about a week. Then they took off the patch and immediately tested my vision. Right out of the gate I could easily read the 20/20 line of the chart. I could read all but two of the letters on the 20/15 line. The Dr. told me that at my appointment next Thursday, she wouldn't be at all surprised if my vision was 20/15. She said that happens in about the top 10% of patients. I couldn't be happier. It's so nice to be able to see in stereo vision once again. It's been about 2 years since I've had any real vision out of my right eye. And my depth perception is fully back! I may need readers in a dark restaurant, but I'm typing and reading this now with no glasses on.😎

Surgery went well. I'll have a patch on until tomorrow, so can't really assess my vision just yet.

Just got driven into the city. Sitting at UCSF waiting for cataract surgery. I only have a cataract in my right eye, but it's gotten bad. I can't see anything but a blury light out of that eye. I was scheduled for surgery last April, but Covid changed all that. It's going to be absolutely amazing to be able to see out of that eye again, and have my depth perception back.

I have certified four LSK389A from Micross, and are definitely Linear Systems products. Because I'm in the UK I had to sign all sorts of export waiver forms to get them out of the USA. They all measure bang on and are very well matched and very close to Idss of 5mA. I've just looked at the package markings, and there is nothing to say that they are A grade. They are just marked with LSK389 1509C, and "Philippines". So LS either send their bare die to the Philippines for packaging, or use a foundry out there. I also have similarly certified LSK489 and LSK689 and both of those are marked Philippines too. These were purchased after quite a long discussion with Linear Systems by email. Anyway, if you have bought a few of different grades, don't mix them up - you have no way of telling from the device markings what grade each one is. A bit like Z-foil resistors; no markings at all. So you have no idea what the value is, or the tolerance. Deliberate error - LSJ689

Here's the code. Just rename the PDF to Zip and expand it into a folder under your .../Documents/Arduino directory. The code works well now, though there are a few things I'd like to keep working on. It will drive one of the I2C 1" OLED displays.
