  1. I too finally got out to my first show post-lockdown to see Phoebe Bridgers at the Greek in Berkeley. It was so much fun to be part of a big crowd again.

  2. Have my dad watching estate sales for woodworking stuff. Got a score tonight with a Supermax 25-50 sander for a whopping $400. Looks to be almost new from the pics. The auction house listed it as a Shopsmith as the guy had a ton of that stuff so no one was watching it.

  3. October is being rather un-Octoberish. It was 70 and sunny today, so I took advantage. Bike is in mullet mode for now after catching a stick last weekened and snapping six spokes in the primary rear wheel. Definitely handles a little weird with the 27.5 on the back and 29 on the front but was better than nothing for sure.

  5. I have been a huge k.d. lang fan since discovering 'Angel With a Lariat' back in '87. I'm revisiting 'Hymns of the 49th Parallel'. This is such a fantastic album!

  7. I don’t spend a lot of time not moving. I only get on the sofa, really, when my partner is in town. She’s asleep at the moment. Dunhill is taking every second of couch time he can. Other cat is on the other side, but not quite close enough to me to not be “not in contact.”* *time not quite right between the pics because I had to let Silver settle in.

  8. Let It Be (2021 Mix) The Beatles 1970 I am not sure it is just my tidal stream, But I feel that I loose all sense of the studio in the mix. People (hoffman forum) talk about the 5.1 mix, but I have no interest. Oh well, good album regardless. And with the deluxe you get the Glyn Johns mix which is very studio. have some youtube sound for fun:

  9. ^ A live local band while you enjoyed food and drink? In this case, http://theincubators.net/ Americana from Petaluma, hence the name? ("Petaluma, home of the inventor of the incubator" https://cdnc.ucr.edu/?a=d&d=SFC19130525.2.43&e=-------en--20--1--txt-txIN--------1 ) Contactless tipping (both from the venues QR code accessed menu, or from the QR code Venmo prompts on stage) may be a side effect of the pandemic, or just the way of the future. Enjoyable, nevertheless. https://youtube.com/c/TheincubatorsNet

  24. Now we know what the loud CRACK BOOM! was a few weeks ago on a very windy night. This is up the gully on our property. Miraculously, it did not crush the drainage pipe.

  25. Well we went to the theatre this week - a matinee performance of The Mirror and the Light. This is the last of a trilogy of plays about the life of Thomas Cromwell, based on Hilary Mantel's books. The play was awesome. But the theatre was packed to the gunnels, no need of proof of vaccination or a negative covid test. So if the national average was present, one in ten was not vaccinated. And since the government has abandoned mandatory mask wearing (as a courtesy to others only), only half the audience were wearing masks. We found the whole experience very disquieting. Going to the theatre was very much our thing pre-covid, at least once a month. But the gung-ho attitude of our idiot leader regarding public safety makes us very wary of repeating the experience any time soon.
