  1. Legs will be feeling this for a bit. Notice the one minute and thirty seven second difference between moving and elapsed times. I did not stop other than for a dropped chain and at a few ride lights. I should have eaten more and needed more fluids but all in all, survivied ok and feel ready for the century in a couple weeks.

  2. For those concerned I might be stuck using the shitty Festool jig saw, I found a blade that I must have ordered with my Resaw King from Laguna. 1/4” 6 TPI Shear Force. Much better cuts than the cheap 3/16” 4tpi I had been running. The new guides are also so much easier to setup and maintain than the Euros. Al, I see a ton of nice woodworking tools up in that part of Michigan. I think there is a 60HH and a Jet 6” helical up there somewhere that keeps showing up in my feed.

  7. There are generally 3 different types of crown molding. 38, 45 and 52 degrees. The Kreg jig has a tool to allow you to check what your particular spring angle is, then you set the jig to that angle. It simply holds the molding at the correct angle as you cut. Without the jig the crown tends to move slightly while cutting. A slight discrepancy can become a big gap pretty quickly. You still turn the crown upside down to cut. The hangers are new to me. I just discovered them, and since I'll be working alone, they'll make holding the crown in place so much easier!

  9. Wow, what a similar morning we've had! Except for the bike. And most of my miles were between the couch and the fridge. But other than that...

  12. I'm not sure it'd classify as an upgrade to most, but my favorite jigsaws are from Bosch and Makita. I'd recommend a barrel grip style for curves.

  14. Depends on the pour. Mostly I drink on ice but for stuff like the Zafra 30 I'll go neat...it deserves the respect. Just needs about 20 min's to air properly IMO. HS

  20. Well, this is going to cause some delays on the Rocking Adirondacks. Going to have to either wait for another 6 Tpi blade or use the shitty Festool jigsaw.
