Here's a small desk that goes with the table from above. To make the legs adjustable, I cut mortises in the ends of each leg and I simply press fit different size blocks in them to account for the floor (in a 125 year old house) being out of level. The wood is the same brown oak, but the finish is a soap finish so it appears a bit lighter. The top is a scrap of solid surface, and the corner joints were made how they were to provide corner support. I also wanted to say that I set every one of those ~3000 tiles (a skill I learned from @swt61).5 points

The Total Boat will work just fine. At some point it will start flaking and need to be refinished. No way of knowing how many years down the road that will be. Total Boat is a quality finish though! It's looking gorgeous Jeff!2 points

Le Tonkinois is a natural non plastic boat varnish that is excellent. Doug turned me on to it. The Marine Varnish No. 1 is meant for boats and other exposed woods. My only concern is how dense and oily the sapele is -- the Tonkinois didn't penetrate and bond with ipe as well as I hoped. http://www.tarsmell.com/number_one.html1 point

There is no maintenance free finish. Every outdoor finish will need work over time. The only maintenance free finish is no finish. But if you don't want a silver/grey oxidation, then I think a spar varnish or boat finish is probably your best option.1 point

During the last weeks I’ve built a few versions of the headphone protector. One small problem is voltage regulators, 7812 and 7912. Output voltages might differ more than 100mV from “specified “. 7812 at +12.1V and 7912 at -11,9V will move intended references 100mV. To tackle the problem, I made this resistor string. With above resistor string I can handle any deviations of the voltage regulators up to 200mV. If you want something else than +/-60mV trigger points, change the 1K resistor. 2K instead of 1K gives you +/-120mV. I’ve enjoyed working with this protector project a lot. Thanks for designing this Headphone Protector, Kevin.1 point

I'm actually getting a little choked up, watching Norm get choked up. I can't believe he's retiring. I remember watching TOH, from the very first episode, back in '79. Norm was never supposed to be on camera, but in episode 2 they needed him to explain a few things, and he was in front of the camera every since. Truth be told, Norm is more responsible for my career choice than anyone other than my high school woodshop teacher.1 point

New Haelos track (nice return to form): https://tidal.com/browse/track/247388928 New Snarky Puppy! https://tidal.com/browse/album/228999248 New Keith Jarrett! https://tidal.com/browse/album/250019473 And this track still slays me -- both guitar solos and the build on both the song and her vocals...just... I can't even... https://tidal.com/browse/track/692009441 point
