Bruckner: Symphonies Nos. 1 & 5 / Wagner: Tristan und Isolde: Prelude & Liebestod Gewandhausorchester, Andris Nelsons 2022 https://album.link/i/1600909330 Example: I made sure to check on this one said '1&5', not '1-5' (lesson learned). Still took me two days, running 2.5 hours of big music. Bruckner wrote some moments that are symphony scale long. Not that the length is too long, but it is a lot of powerful stuff going on. It is some nice work being done here. I know Of Bruckner's work, more than I know it. And knowing his idol worship of Wagner. Why I guess they pair his and Richard's work so much (which I included). So, almost too dynamic? The first movement of the 5th, goes from super quiet, on the verge of my tinnitus, to holy poop turn the volume down. And I don't turn things down often. Maybe I am getting old, as I reach for another Werther's Original hard candy. This is a large orchestra recording, many many players, so they can really punch when called to. But it also puts you further back from the players. I would say it is well recorded by DG, if not my style of presentation. This is a part of a series of releases that get to all 9 symphonies. I may check out one of the other albums. (open to recommendations as to which symphony to try beyond these) But the music is too dense to take it all in as a series.2 points

https://album.link/i/1682553570 and https://www.qobuz.com/es-es/album/bill-evans-trio-herb-geller-live-february-14th-1972-hamburg-bill-evans/d5yww3aig1ujc Recent restored release. I love Bill Evans, so I'm easy to please. The addition of Herb Geller's flute makes it truly special.2 points

Escape (2022 Remaster) {but should be ESC4P3} Journey 1981 https://album.link/i/1640102583 Example: See Eric Hutchinson, this is how you do it! Such a good album for the hits of the time. Now that I follow a few vocal reactors on YouTube, I can appreciate Steve's singing even more. It almost makes up for 'Open Arms'.... almost that is. I had to skip the track after about 30 seconds. But the rest of the album remains worthy.1 point

Thanks for the info. I should not be surprised that C clamps are basically useless these days. My father was a very (mid) 20th century man, and was highly resistant to change. He got away with it primarily by being the smartest person in the room, and never above using that to his advantage. Upon reflection this is only a small part of his collection, which means there's a bunch more I still need to unearth. I should add he never did any original construction with these, they were use to repair antique furniture.1 point

Hair Of The Dog Nazareth 1975 https://album.link/i/1440632331 Example: Solid Album. I had not realized that this was there sixth studio album. I thought it might have been their sophomore release. They were very strong at this point, and still creative. And I liked that it got radio play even with language.1 point

Speaking of Speaking for itself: Art Pepper Meets The Rhythm Section (OJC Remaster) Art Pepper 1957 https://album.link/i/1443151711 Example: I cannot want much more than Art playing a Gillespie tune. Well and all the other tunes on this album. It must have been pretty amazing to have been into jazz between 1955-64, and hearing these albums for the first time without standards being standards. Add more pepper to your day, it is a good thing.1 point

Been working on this for a looong time. CFA3 from scratch mixed smd/thru-hole design. Currently assembled with NOS Toshiba 2SC3381/2SA1349 inputs, NOS MPSW TO-92L thru-hole transistors and bcxxx for the smd. Power consumption 75W no fan. Linear PSU with 20,000uf/63V filter capacitance — custom golden reference regulators. Final dimensions are 12x9x4.5” / 22lb+ the motorized 48 step attenuator w/ remote and display was a last minute addition. definitely interested in finding out the feedback for that, but would want it built backwards for a final design, I think.1 point
