  1. Got the latest COVID (Pfizer, August release) booster, as well as Flu Shot this weekend. Fuck RFK jr. and his satanic minions! They recommended shingles and RSV shots too; I may go for RSV, but my doc still thinks I could defer shingles. Will talk with her in Sept at my appointment, so that may change as well.

  3. Biking is fun as hell. I think I need one. You just don’t get this speed on foot. I still love walking and hiking but this feels like a different beast.

  5. I kept meaning to say, Ms. Chloe could give Grumpy Cat a run for the money 😊 Still sounds like a sweetheart though! For me, some good things happened and coming up: Andrew & Amy moved in fully, and have started working with the designer that Karen and I worked with for our bathrooms. Lots of good ideas coming out, and everyone (myself included) is excited to see what comes from this Went out last night with some family to celebrate my mom's 86th BDay. Was a nice time, not everyone could come but the smaller group made it very nice. She had a wonderful time, until I was on my way home and she calls me all frustrated about her TV having issues (I am Tech Support). I told her she needs to chill - I can ONLY say that to my mom 🀣 - and walked her through a shut-off and turn-on of power to reboot cable box, modem, etc. Worked for the night at least, we'll see if it gives more trouble. In a couple weeks, we celebrate my dad's 90th! He has a tough time getting around physically, and has hearing issues. But mentally he is there, and he enjoys (for short enough duration) the company of family. Work situation will get a bit better. Had a chat with our new CIO and she seems great. We were so in synch with a lot of things it was scary....but good. I also heard they will open the REQ to hire another role like mine, very much needed. Short-term will fill in with another off-shore developer; but we need the Business Analysis piece as well

  8. Well, exists for two films because George Miller "nudged" the $tudio . In Furiosa there is selective color when it's important, like flare signals or a red apple. Normally a no-no, but I think it works here.

  10. Anniversary dinner at Barbacana in Houston. Our first time and we were very impressed with the service, food and drink. Wagyu carpaccio, a vegetarian dish that was a riff on ramen, pork collar and a few desserts. The Korn, which was sweet and savory was a culinary gem IMHO (brittle on top one). HS

  12. Yes it is. It's also a lot more dangerous than walking and hiking. Please be sure that you prepare properly.

  14. Lawmen: Bass Reeves. Kind of seems like it should be called Lawman: Bass Reeves, but I'll take it. Based on the true story of an escaped slave who became a peace officer for over 30 years, with 3,000 arrests, including his son. You may also recognize the name from the Tulsa/"Black Wall Street" open of Watchmen.

  17. Cure, Paris/Show I haven't listened to the others as much, but these are some of my favourite live albums from Robert Smith & co. Robert Smith at his most vulnerable/heartbreaking -- the song, "Apart", from Paris: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YS6ZyAsUA-w

  21. West of Broadway by Rachael & Vilray (2025) https://album.link/vq8hxmdwzwfb7 Happy to see a new Rachel & Vilray. I dig that they are writing these 50s style jazz tunes today. Great duets.

  23. Infecting the next generation. Andrew's new ride is a leftover Specialized Fuse Sport. Specialized stopped making the bike in 2022 but had made so many that dealers still had them and they were blowing them out. Original MSRP $2400, paid $999. Bought one for Lily two years ago for $1600 and thought that was a screaming deal. Can't wait to get him out on the trails if it would ever stop raining around here.
