sorry this is my fault, we were using it as a prop for a Cronenberg film....3 points

Did my first virtual ride on Zwift. It is very weird not to have to worry about steering the bike. I feel like I was in the matrix. It is pouring rain out, so yeah, I see the appeal of riding indoors. I also am able to tighten the pedal tensioners to their “death grip” setting because there is no falling off a stationary bike. I also noticed, while looking at what cadence other people ride at on Strava, that all of Brent’s Strava pictures are of food. You can’t make this stuff up. 😂3 points

I have not listened in a few days, I think I overcompensated today. The End Continues by Spinal Tap (2025) https://album.link/wkfchxst380hj Example: A little croaky, but i think it is suppose to be. And fun. Winding down for a bit - Sweet for K by Tsuyoshi Yamamoto (2024) https://album.link/4gr3x3f9djhbs Example: Overall a lovely recording, each tune is presented really well. Taken as a whole it does become a little samey, a touch more variety track to track would have been nice. My first Tsuyoshi, and I like it. Still have Hardly Strictly on my mind Billy Strings - EP by Billy Strings (2016) https://open.qobuz.com/album/hys0x0fa5vicc Example: Just an EP so not too long... But fun. and just a Blue Note - of note. That’s Where It’s At by Stanley Turrentine (1962) https://album.link/nctnpggrt7ckg Example:2 points

More than I wanted to know, with some long words ("Transurethral cystolitholapaxy") clearly explained Bladder stones - Treatment - NHS https://www.nhs.uk/conditions/bladder-stones/treatment/ Did they say what your treatment options were, and tradeoffs / preference. Hoping for an outcome that works for you.1 point

Something I just learned that others might already know: Apple removed the secure erase function from Disk Utility because users where "damaging their SSDs." Something, you know, a warning popup might have solved. Now one has to go through Terminal to accomplish the same thing. I mention this now because I'm finally decommissioning some external HDDs from the early 2010s.1 point

I really like this album. The song selection... the way she plays. I've listened to it twice in two days. Good morning coffee music. She got a new fan. ex.1 point

I’m coming up on 200 miles on the new bike and still very much in the honeymoon phase. I did a 35ish mile ride today and had a blast. This thing is a riot to get out and ride. I love how much distance I can cover, and it feels like a proper machine. The farm roads where I live are infinite, and with the radar I’m not caught off guard when motorists do want to overtake. I’m starting to get used to the clipless setup. No wipe-outs since the initial one. As I’ve developed a more deft touch on the brakes it is easier to dismount under control. I still have close calls every now and then so not ready to crank the pedal tensioners up yet, but I’m getting there. I’m ready for a bike fit and booked one with a local place that a co-worker recommended that uses the Retul stuff. I don’t know what I’m doing outside of going by feel, so hoping they can help me out. I’m not sure if my saddle is right or not, and I do get some shoulder soreness on longer rides. I can see fit being more and more important as I do longer rides. I’m also going to bring the bike back to the shop for a break-in adjustment and cleaning. She is getting filthy and I don’t have access to a hose to spray it off.1 point

Panasonic makes great film caps. I've used many different types for many applications. When used for audio coupling, my experience has been that higher voltage ratings tend to sound better. Look for caps designed for high frequency, high voltage, high current circuits (like PFC or resonant power circuits) and you'll usually find good construction that has nothing objectionable to audio. The ECWFD series you linked has copper-clad steel leads. I tend to look for copper leads on principle, though most datasheets will just say "wire leads". According to a list I made many years ago, Panasonic series ECWH(V), ECWH(C), and ECWFG have copper leads. Series ECWF(L), ECWF(A), ECQUA have copper or copper-clad leads. I think the leads are more likely to be copper with higher voltage ratings. The only slightly annoying thing about the Panasonic caps is that they'll sometimes throw out a non-standard lead spacing (17.5mm, why?), but I don't think that will matter to most people.1 point

Not today but yesterday I visited the urologist. He checked both MRI and CT visuals. Good news is I have no soft tissue damage, inflammations or polyps. Bad news is I have some more stones in my bladder. Not as big as I projected but he said they might clump together by time. And not only stones in my bladder, I have a hole in my wallet too. And it seems if I want them gone as painless and as soon as possible, the hole in my wallet will devour it completely. Hello healthscares! Goodbye the dream of upgrading espresso machine and grinder...0 points
