  1. I'd definitely go the M-frame route from that website. Sure you need two drivers per side, but you get the benefit of (at least to first order) distortion cancellation. These were mine during building maybe 5 years ago.

  3. T2 frequency response is at least that good so it's confirmed to be running class AB.... 7K is an awful lot of money that's shop built blue hawaii se with a really nice potentiometer and 0.1% 15ppm resistors. Or two modern full T2s if you go DIY... so its up against the best of the best. 1. does it have interstage coupling caps (bad for sound)? 2. is the signal path cap free? 3. is it using constant current sources? if so where? 4. does it have a 5M ohm resistor on the bias to protect the headphones. 5. does it have 5.1K resistors on the outputs to protect the stax headphones? 6. how quiet are the power supplies? 7. is the B+ delayed on startup? As a speaker amplifier it's interesting, as a stax amp I am not convinced.

  4. FWIW, I like some of the LTA gear, used to own the Micro-ZOTL 2 (the first non-Berning incarnation). Was a great little amp for not big $, and combined with my Exogal Comet DAC had some folks at a NH show saying it was the best they'd heard from the Senn 800. I also met a couple of the LTA guys at a NY show, pretty nice/cool, with good music taste for the demos. The circuit is licensed from Berning so it has some standard there. TBD on parts used etc. But what I had was a pretty solid amp with very good sound. Now, that said....the prices have shot up WAY too much for my liking. And yes, having never worked with stats, there's reservations that are perfectly valid. At a lower price point, I think they'd be worth a listen. But not upwards of $7k.....

  6. The larger of the two included cases is large enough to fit a couple of iPod Classics. For old guys like me that still think of them as current technology. I like to have multi-gig music choices.

  7. So my Etymotic ER4XR IEM's arrived today. Listening now and they sound great. Glad I went with the XR edition. Best bass I've heard out of Etymotics, but not at all bloated. Still a bit bass shy IMO, but much better than the S or P versions. The aluminum housings also just give a more quality feel. Great bargain!

  9. Doing dinner prep - prepping a traditional style Filipino adobo with chicken thighs. Currently marinating in soy, white vinegar, garlic and bay leaf. While the thighs are cooking, I’ll reduce that marinade down to a glaze, and serve over rice.

  10. The curl only kind of shows up in this pic, but it is the best one I have. This is not, actually, ambrosia - it is from a tree that was tapped for syrup. It leaves the same streaking, but with larger holes (which I cut off). This was wood from the $2/bf scrap heap - same wood I made the kitchen counters from.

  13. After almost three and a half months, the KGST is finally in operation, and is sounding great. Thanks to all who have responded to my questions and given guidance. I am really surprised at how good the 40 year old headphone sounds with this amp. Special thanks also to Bigir and Dr. Gilmore for such wonder contributions to the community.
