Got home at 2am today. Went food shopping late this morning, and after lunch Andrew and I shoveled out our walkway, which was covered in ~4 feet of snow from our roof being cleaned. Oh, and it was frozen snow, tough as shit to get through, and heavier than the soft fluffy stuff. But we cleared a good path....just in time for the next snowstorm to start up. Already ~1-2" on the ground. Tonight....movie and a fire, if Karen and I can agree what to watch.

I like the concept, and I like Vinny himself. He was supposed to bring some LIO stuff to the December meet in NH but he got sick and had to bow out. But technically, if there are issues, that's not good. And, the pricing on most of his products is high, sets off my value alarms...... I had heard one of his amps previously at the store where the meet was held, it actually was the best amp there driving the Audeze LCD-2's; but again, pricey....

While I like the general idea of the HiFi Skyn, I dislike the idea of something custom made for a phone that may be replaced much sooner than the amp/DAC.

We call the snow rake a roof rake. I am very careful with mine, it looks like it could break pretty easily in this shit. Extends out a good 15+ feet with extensions. In other news, the latest picture of the pile on the back deck, courtesy of wife's phone.

Shelly, a plumber can also install a valve on the input pipes as well, cheaper than replacing the whole unit. We did that to help avoid a possible water issue. The only thing we need to remember is to turn the valve on/off when starting or completing a cycle.

Funny coincidence story..... Was selling my Chestnut Hill George table radio through CraigsList, a woman named JoAnne and her friend Vicky came by to listen and purchase. We talked about love of music and audio. Vicky mentioned her son was involved with manufacturing turntables, so I asked what company. She started to answer, "He's right here in Woburn...it's..." and I finished the sentence "...U-Turn...!" She was pleasantly surprised that I had heard of it, and very happy to hear it was recommended and well-received here. FWIW, she says they are very customer-service oriented, and many people (not just his mother, she laughs) think pretty highly of them.

RIP. I was sad to hear some bad stories about his new business and customers getting threats, delays and up-charges. But his products were near-legendary..... Don't have a Grado phone anymore, but will raise a glass tonight in his memory.
