  1. Happy belated!
  2. Sorry to hear, Doug....I had FedEx damage some nice speakers recently sent to me. Took almost 2 months, lots of pictures and documentation, but I got the claim settled.....second time I've "beat" them even when they tired to delay or deny.
  3. And now I know for sure the turntable used in A Clockwork Orange! I always thought either Oracle or JA Michell but always forgot to look it up.
  4. Happy Birthday!
  5. RIP Fred and Jimmy. Fred was amazingly prolific....indeed superbly funny....
  6. Einstürzende Neubauten - Alles In Allem
  7. What a nice idea, getting mine up and running, too.... Thanks to Marc from me as well!
  8. These folks were recommended on another site. I watched one of their vids, and now I have watched about 10, and ordered the CD they have in stock.
  9. Happy Birthday Ari!!
  10. If it wasn't May friggin' 9th, I'd say this was quite beautiful! It won't accumulate though, so we're enjoying from a warm house.
  11. Very Happy Birthday!!
  12. The ease of use is great indeed, Jim! I have a core setup on NUC's in my home and in my Maine condo. It's easy to switch the license back and forth, so I can enjoy that anywhere. I have 5 end-points at home, and (when set back up, if I can ever get there) 2 in Maine. Only use TIDAL and local libraries for now, may give Qobuz a try, and if Roon integrates with the Amazon service, we'll see about that.....
  13. I just sold a Sonore MicroRendu (old HW rev, old SW) for $250. I just ordered all ^^^^^ for a little over $100, and I get Wireless included, which the Rendu's don't have....VERY nice! Thanks Marc!
  14. RIP Don, incredible coach; he'll never have to see a team break his Dolphin's record for a perfect season..... And RIP Dave Greenfield, keyboardist extraordinaire for The Stranglers...heart complications due to COVID-19 😪
  15. Happy Birthday!
  16. Doing some weekend work, with accompaniment Then: Now:
  17. Always loved Infinity's, especially the EMIT's.... I also have one of those little amps on top, a Topping MX3. Fun little thing, cheap but flexible....
  18. Just had a flashback to this song I liked eons ago
  19. ^^ Like, but....massive wall reflections, anyone?
  20. I saw Robyn Hitchcock's note about Matthew.... RIP to 2 greats!
  21. ^^^ That''s so odd, I JUST started the new Fiona Apple, too! Was coming here to post it, too.....
  22. I have told this to many, but since I was able to vote, I have participated in every Presidential election. I am 55 now. In ALL those years, I have been hard-pressed to say that I have voted "for" someone very positively. It has basically been the lesser of two evils in my mind. And that's what politics is about to me. Bush Sr. and Obama may be the closest I've been to voting FOR someone..... I look back to the Nixon-Kennedy debates. It was reported at the time that Nixon's appearance and "edge" had cost him dearly; that media visibility was now rising in importance. Add to that the shame put on the Presidency by Nixon's paranoia and the Watergate scandal, and it's no surprise that media coverage - real or fake - dictates so much of voter political response now. People are more characters playing roles than servants to the public. And I also agree a mention above that it's often about power as well. I also look back to the CONTENT of the Nixon-Kennedy debates, and yearn for current politician to discuss matters the way those two did. It's horrendous now..... The last election, and this one, are low bars for those lesser of two evils for me.....but at this stage, I am firmly in the anyone-but-trump camp.
  23. Live-streaming Mary Fahl on FB.......not great sound, but still such passion in her "alone" performance! EDIT: she ended with an a cappella version of Amazing Grace.....perfect for the time, and her voice delivers it so well!
  24. RIP Lee and Brian..... RIP to Mr. & Mrs. Cohen, a couple in the Boston area. Saw a news story about them. Married 77+ years, separated only during WW2. Both in a nursing home, vowed to stay with each other to the end. She contacted COVID-19, he did not but still had pneumonia from another issue. With a nurse in PPE and holding each of their hands at times, they stayed together. She died I guess 12 hours after him on the same day. He was 102, she 97. I'm tearing up just typing this.....sad, yet so beautiful.....
  25. Nate, another possibility is the Cocktail Audio N15 streamer. Lots of services including Tidal, Qobuz, and Roon. Has analog and digital outs, and a tray for a 2.5" drive. There's one on sale for $399 if you (or if not you, others) are interested, I can send link. I think there's a new "D" revision, the sale one is the old one in the Amazon link above.
