I took a tour in Lake Tahoe during my recent vacation and my guide was able to catch this photo of a Coyote 'mousing' (hunting for mice) in a field.

The Alta arrived today and I'm liking it so far. The bigger display is nice and it's about half as wide as the Charge is. We'll see how the battery life is.

Surprisingly my Charge worked all the way through my vacation but it's pretty much toast now. Ordered a Fitbit Alta today, we'll see how that goes. It has the features I need and the thinner profile will be nice I think.

The vivofit 3 looks pretty interesting as well, I really don't need any of the fancy stuff, just step, distance, calorie, etc tracking and the ability to manually enter data that it can't track.

While I prefer the smaller size of the bands I'm open to a watch style.

Figured we could use a thread to discuss fitness trackers for those of us trying to lose weight and/or get into better shape. I have a Fitbit Charge, I'm actually on my 3rd one (2 replaced under warranty) and today the button on it stopped working. It's nice that they keep replacing them for free but damn it's getting annoying. The build quality is just garbage. Any suggestions on a different brand or model to try?

The Synology I've had is the 1511+ it's worked well for me. If you want a turnkey solution and don't mind paying for it then the 1515+ is a solid option.

The FreeNAS Mini seems pretty expensive for what it is especially considering it's only 4 bays. If you were willing you could build your own FreeNAS box using a regular mini-tower pc case with 7-8 bays for half the cost. I've had a Synology for many years and have been looking to upgrade/replace it. Once I have the time I'm going to be building my own FreeNAS box.

Expensive and/or raved-about headphones that actually suck!

I've always loved the L3000, not at current used prices mind you, but new for like $1500, killer. I'm also a big SR-009 fan for what it's worth. -
Good luck to everyone that's getting hit by this storm. It has stayed south of us here (10 miles north of Pittsburgh) as we've only had about 4" and it's seems to have stopped already

I should have started most of my bench this week.

Thanks for reporting that, looks like they broke something in the small upgrade yesterday. I've been able to disable the guest page caching that was causing it for the time being.
-
Not quite sure what happened there with the e-mails, it *might* be fixed now.

Back to my winning ways this week :)

Yep clearing your browser cache is likely the only way to fix it.

Tapatalk update installed, should fix the problems you guys were seeing.

Search index rebuild is now complete

FYI: the search index is rebuilding so it'll be an hour or two before search is fully functional again

Upgrade done, ended up moving the site to a new server as well.
