  1. And all parents think their children are beautiful....... Somebody's just gonna have to buy one to put this to bed. Don't look at me.
  2. Just rain here, which keeps going. And going. Oh well, at least it's not 95 degrees.
  3. Yes yes.... crawling out from under the rock now. Had work and managed to fit in some drinking. Thank you all, for your wonderful speeches and admonitions.
  4. this post will be quite slurrred, just a warning: May the record forever show, that I have beat a marine and a dude with full on Turret's, at a drinking game. It started with a night of rock band, drinking whenever breakes in the music dictated. Then it moved to an episode of top gear, requiring that whenever a blatant britishism came up or a total insult from one cast member to another were to occur, that we had to drink.... I have beat a Marine. Yes, I rule. He is asleep and I am completley fucked. This post has required some kind of record backspace usage to not end up looking like an edwood post. You all should be proud. Seriously. At least one backspace per actual character typed .... To be clear, it's a keg of yuengling in my fucking house, and I have the day off (I should have been to work already, if I were working today.)
  5. I wasn't there, so not much I can say. Some gear showed up, some drinkin got done. Stevieo probably did something highly inappropriate, at some point. Good times were had by most.
  6. Use it in my system. Haven't done a lick of comparison to anything except my old Marantz 1060B receiver, and it solidly beats that. Seems pretty darn great for the money.
  7. The PS is in my house till the end of August when Wayne goes back to Cayman. What's really sad is that the umbilical from the PS to the amp itself wasn't included in either package, so that's another thing Mikhail owes Wayne.
  8. I think I'm in for this one. Just talked to Mike and he's seriously thinking about coming. I need info from the Florida people about your flights, I'll try to get something in the same window. EDIT: just saw Vicki's departing flight. Arriving will be somewhat limited to leaving after work, no sooner than about 6PM from Tampa.
  9. Got the one for Superstition that was talked about in the same article. Awesome.
  10. Naw man, keep us updated. We care. A lot. Really. Just don't blame me for the advice Vicky gave you I completely understand having to stay at home, being that you're still in school.
  11. Hey now, don't blame me for your shit. Vicki was the one who said move out. I understand if you gotta stay at home, just adjust those expectations a bit. Learn to work with it, ya know?
  12. Watched Funny Games. Played a bunch of Rock Band drums & guitar. Saw that next week's new music for RB will be a compilation of Who songs, including a few from Live at Leeds. Proceeded to listen to Live at Leeds vinyl for the first time (thought my copy would be ugly but turned out to be freaking minty.) Moved on to Quadrophenia just for good measure. Read a bunch of cool stuff on Quadrophenia.net. Just listened to Fleet Foxes Sun Giant EP on vinyl. Thinking about listening to their S/t album right now but not sure I can stay awake for something that relaxing, which means I'll just be wearing out the grooves for no reason. And now I'm boring myself....
  13. Not especially, lots of kids out of school and whatnot. Plus you've got a long weekend going on. The fact that he had to wait in line for "hours" means it was rediculous busy. Granted I haven't been to Disney in about 10 years but they've always been fairly efficient with the lines. I'd guess that 90% of the people here have gone through similar times with their parents. You're 22, and still living at home, so some of it you'll just have to take. I was still going to church to make them happy and laying low until I moved out at 21. It's all about keeping the peace if you're still hanging around at home. It does suck that you did such a nice thing for them and got nothing but this crap in return. I guess you've learned not to bother, but that's fine too. Sounds like their priorities are much different. I'll go ahead and say it though... This whole thread sounds more like the work of a 16 year old than a 22 year old (thus the reason I called it "twittery" before). Maybe you're just real lucky that your relationship at home worked out until now, and you didn't have to go through all this in high school. Maybe this same rebellion has been going on for 6-10 years. I don't know. Just remember that other people can perceive your complaints as immature. Throwing a tantrum in the car and subsequently getting a lecture sure sounds like teenage behavior to me. Time to figure out some balance in that relationship. Usually balance is just accepting that you'll never change their crap and moving on. That's pretty much how it went for me.
  14. He wouldn't go on *any* rides? You couldn't even get him on "It's a Small World" (after all, it's a small world afterall, it's a small world afterall. It's a small, small world.)" Phew maybe I can avoid that being stuck in my head since I typed it all out... Like Cartman with "Come Sail Away". But yeah I got you on the "usual family holiday" bit. Mine usually ended up with the 'rents arguing about something stupid and my dad disappearing and returning a much mellower happier person, if you get the drift. Going July 4th weekend wasn't your best move. The hours of lines could've been avoided in say, October. Also the heat. So, was that your first amusement park? Never been on a *real* roller coaster? I say it's time for Team Florida to hit Busch Gardens. Well, not time right now. In the off season, and when its cooler. They've got rides that would instantly turn your pops into a pile of dust, apparently.
  15. Heh. I delivered wine there once. I thought about stealing their wine and delivering nothing but cases of water. Too bad I could get fired for something like that.
  16. Actually you were told that if you were deemed to be an idiot, you'd get yourself some new orifices ripped. Looks like you're doing ok. However this thread is a little Twittery for my tastes. YMMV.
  17. Those are the ones that will infect your soul, curve your spine and keep the country from winning the war.
  18. Just heard this on the radio. George Carlin has died of heart failure, at 71. Always loved his work.
  19. Nerds... On the other hand that reminds me of when my friend played Diablo online (Or maybe it was Starcraft, something like that), and used to enjoy booting all the Koreans off the server by typing some random characters that their software couldn't interpret.
  20. She likes to drop little bits and pieces, and then claim her life isn't interesting. I think it's a thing where mere mortals couldn't hear the whole thing in one sitting.
  21. A standard week of gastroenterological nightmares in NightWounds' world. I live in an extremely diverse neighborhood of an even more diverse town. Sadly the chains rule the concious of the general population, but there are good things to be found. Sunday I'm all about the Thai food. There's a buddhist temple two blocks from my house, where they spread out tons of curries, deserts, and general other southeast Asian treats for sale. Not coincidentally, my favorite food to cook right now is Thai or Chinese. I experimented last night with a Chili (one of my old standbys), but with a few Thai spices and some fish sauce thrown at it. Pretty damned good, and the habanero I tossed in with a few lighter peppers took the thing up to a solid 4 alarms. Yumm. Also in my neighborhood there's a pretty decent BBQ selection, from the redneck whitey version behind the Harley dealership, to the all out soul brother comfort food version just a half mile from the Harley dealership. Also there's a strange hispanic BBQ place that I visit once in a while, if only for the amusement factor. But speaking of Hispanic joints, I've got 2 in walking distance, and 2 more that are a 5 minute drive. 2 are solidly Cuban, 1 is Brazilian, and 1 is Puerto Rican. Strangely enough the PR folks make the best Cuban Sandwich. Brazilian food is interesting but the local joint uses pretty low quality meat. I've been to a classy rodizio type place where the classic Brazilian meats were much more tasty. And they were all you can eat.... Not something I do much. Another thing I don't do much but count among my favorites is The Laughing Cat. It's in downtown Ybor (former cigar capital of the world), and run by a five star chef who abandoned Rhode Island to open up a hole in the wall while I was in school in Ybor. $5 lunch specials to die for. Eventually he expanded to a larger but still pretty small restaurant, and now he does a lunch buffet that's pretty intense. Franco (the chef) cooks modern Italian food of the heavy dense and sinful variety. Most dishes involve heavy cream and lots of sliced garlic (hard to take a bite of some of his dishes that don't include a slice of garlic). I wish I had the will power to go there every day and not eat 3000 calories, but I don't. It's a semi-annual trip for me. Funny part is I've never eaten dinner there, due to the high prices. I just can't see spending $30 or more on a plate of food, no matter where it comes from.
  22. I really don't get the idea of not being able to read a post because of some stuff off to the left. Then again I'm running a 25" monitor, so my opinion may be pointless.
  23. Lol I just jumped on my photobucket and noticed a little gem hiding in the wings. OICDN from my mini-meet justabout a year ago. He was such a quiet man.
  24. Why do I always hit the "quote" instead of "modify". Something deeply flawed in my perception of space on this forum....
