I noticed about a week ago that my white MacBook had started developing a crack at the place where my right palm rests. I googled that and it seems like it's a very common problem for MacBooks. I had heard about case cracking problems, but I thought it was just due to abuse, not a big design flaw like this. Anyway, I'm not too happy and I called the technical support and took an appointment at a local Apple Store for tomorrow morning. I still have 2 months on my warranty so they better replace it. Here's an example (I didn't take the photo) of the problem:

I don't know for the others, but personally I think the moderators do their job pretty well on Head-fi. They've done some errors in the past, but you can't expect perfection on a forum with 50000+ members. What I don't like on H-F is shill members, members posting impressions of things they haven't heard and members posting technical information when they obviously don't understand what they're saying.

I've been rediscovering old comics lately through the magic of torrents. It's pretty awesome that you can get out-of-print and rare releases in a few clicks. I also found an very cool comic reader for Mac, it's called Simple Comic. Reading the original Sandman right now.

Well, that's one situation where a simple listening test is a damn good proof. Try the Koss ESP-950 out of the E-90 and then out of a KGSS which puts out less voltage than the Koss amp and tell me that you prefer the E-90. Your scientific exploration is cool and I'm looking forward to more of your tests, but in the end it's all about how it sounds, isn't it?

I'm not sure about the nomenclature behind markl mods, but if a LA5000 is the same thing as a markl modded D5000, I heard it at a meet and didn't like the experience. Here's my comments from the meet thread. They are meet impressions so it's not 100% accurate, but these headphones didn't appear to me as refined or with a special characteristic that differentiates them from other dynamic headphones, other than a stupidly high price tag.
