I spoke too soon. They want to ship everything together so they did not process a partial shipment of the items from my order that were in stock. When I saw yesterday that my back-ordered items were showing in stock I thought they would ship everything; however, other items from my order that had been in stock are now out of stock so they are not shipping anything. I give up.

Lights Out. Pretty good premier.

More from Times Square Weather Channel personality on location. Father Duffy with a Snowhawk City worker taking a break from sweeping up puddles of water. Out of Towners? Canon Fan Nobody's playing Ping Pong in Bryant Park tonight.

I am finally getting around to using the Canon CPS Equipment Evaluation program. I should have two loaner lenses delivered by the end of the month just in time for a little vacation. This is pretty nice, you just e-mail them the gear you want, bodies, lenses, etc. and you get a quick reply telling you when it will be delivered.

Looks like the Airborne and the Metro will be here Friday, just in time for a little three day weekend trip.
-
Seems that even more of my bags were on backorder at Red Oxx so now all I have coming is the Airboss which should be here tomorrow and the Metro that should be here next week.
-
Still coming down pretty well here. Fortunately, we have the maintenance guy and his lawn tractor from the Trump building next door sweeping our street so I should be good.

I didn't even need the picture, the description of the cake made me hungry. Congrats.

I had not. I assumed it had the latest version coming from Amazon the end of December but I should have checked.

Wow, the Nex did a fantastic job of metering on a difficult shot, fine white feathers. I am way behind in learning how to make everything work on the NEX. I am not a big fan of the menus at this point.
-
I have not gotten around to trying adapters yet on the Nex. Your picture turned out pretty well. Do you get focus confirmation on the Nex with the adapter you are using?

I sometimes wonder if Dinny just comes up with topics and throws them at us to see the frenzy and reap the benefits from shrewd stock market picks. He is up in his tower in the sky now thinking of the next market he wants to manipulate. Why do I have 7 DACs?

Great Bluegrass album from members of The Decemberists.

I bought lots of stuff but some of it is on backorder. The only things in stock were the Airboss, the Sun Chaser and the Airborne. All in Black. Will have to wait on the Flying Fortress and the Metro.

Some from my walk to the train. Guy looking at himself on the big screen in Times Square Working the ice at Bryant Park. Skaters The crowd was captivated.

Some from GCT this morning.

I never had the original IS but I have heard complaints about muted colors with that lens. This new version is an excellent lens all the way around. The 70-200 non-is was not bad but not in the same league as the new one.
-
I had the 70-200 f4 and found it to be a very sharp lens. These shots are only cropped no processing.
-
I actually thought the best colors might have been the Rokinon but they were on the verge of being oversaturated. There was really not much difference between the Canon and the Sigma. The Canon has the best Bokeh but really slow focus. Using it as a MF makes for some fantastic shots but I do not think it is better than the Sigma. Some random snap shots with the new 70-200.
-
Weight was certainly part of it but I think the biggest issue was that I had the Sigma before it and could not see the huge upcharge for the red band as the Sigma does pretty well for half the price. I also had the Rokinon 85 f1.4 MF in the house at the same time and was really quite impressed with it though I was not willing to deal with all the work to get the focus confirmation to work and I cannot see doing so much photography with live view at 10x zoom.

Yes it is a 5D mk II. I gave one 5D to my little brother and I am selling the other so I picked up a second mk II with the credit from returning the 85 f1.2 I decided not to keep. I know it is kind of hard to keep up as I really like shiny new things. As an aside, I picked up a BlackRapid RS4 for this camera as B&H did not have the 5. For the extra 10-20 dollars for the RS5 it is a dramatically better strap. The RS4 is pretty sorry for 55 dollars.

Christmas came late but it was worth the wait. Never tried the Canon direct store before so I hope this refurb 5D works out. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Picked up the pancake lens for the Sony last night and did some test shots of some dusty old SR-60s at ISO 12,800. Not the best image but somewhat usable for such a high ISO on such a small camera.

Happy Birthday.

Wow, I was not able to check anything until I found a wifi tonight. I ended up winning two and getting third in the other three. The league that disappointed me the most was the one I went undefeated all season and then the first round of playoffs I imploded so a 7-6 team won it all.
