Which Cooking Are You?
Batch #2 is still going strong, so after watching this video: ...decided to go with garlic paste, and then top it off with ground dried roasted garlic from a grinder, for those two different tastes, which I always kind of knew, but never really understood. I do like fresh chopped garlic too, but I’m pretty sure I’ve never tasted that in a sauce that I’ve made. And then store it for later eating.

Which Cooking Are You?
I fell asleep while the crockpot was on high, so I cooked the life out of it. Not inedible, but no longer “fucking delicious “. Just kind of lifeless. Batch #2 is already significantly better.

Just finished Last Dance by Martin L Shoemaker. I enjoyed! Mostly because the central figure is so tactless and crotchety, like House, M.D., except a space captain. I’m going to start modeling my own life after him. It’s not perfect—it’s really a bunch of stories tied together in another overarching story—but no less enjoyable for it.- Which Cooking Are You?
So I think I’ve put two crockpots full of additional ingredients into said goulash: 4 cans of various tomatoes (including two labeled sweet onion); 1 pound of beef; 2 cans of beans; a second package of noodles; water... I think I’ve achieved perfection. So it’s nowhere to go but down. Also, I’ve been using Chobani squeezable yogurt instead of sour cream. It’s fucking delicious.- The Knuckledragger 3rd Memorial Slow Forum Post

We need to talk. I have a JP-8080, several E-mu modules (including the Morpheus), a Quadraverb GT...plus I spent a lot of time hanging out with rivetheads and goths in the 90s. I used to cite Skinny Puppy as one of my top 3 favourite acts...- And now what did you do TODAY?
Yeezh. Best wishes you all. And Brent, quit eating biscuits already!- Music Making
Geiger counters have no sense of rhythm. Okay, if you want more gear instead of a DAW, then yes, more gear. I would recommend thinking of them in groups with the ability to sync aspects of them (especially sequencers), with dividers and multipliers so that they still unified. Fake polyphony! And get a nice warm guitar tube amp with a reverb, like a Fender Reverb.- Ye Macce Threade

Yes, brilliant. Thank you!- Music Making
You just need a DAW. Modular synthesizers are typically monophonic, so you only get to hear the one melody. Overdub a few things together and it will start to sound more complete. A reverb would help, too.- Which Cooking Are You?
The noodles soaked up the extra liquid as they were supposed to. But it’s still pretty spicy, so I skipped the garlic. I just threw in another jar of tomato sauce, any other recommendations to cut the heat? A nice flavored vinegar, like truffle vinegar? I can’t put milk in a chili...- Which Cooking Are You?
My spicy goulash/chili. So far, a little soupy, and easily the spiciest thing I’ve ever made without ruining it. Beef, rocoto paste, tomato sauce, beef broth, black beans, noodles, and several diced olives for salt and earthiness Cumin, paprika, a touch of dill and oregano, will add garlic in the morning- The official Head Case broadcast thread

Opeth, In Cauda Venenum—if it was possible for them to turn their back on metal farther than 180 degrees, and embrace prog more, they did. - What are you reading now?
