  1. Yidhra, Hexed -- RIYL old school Black Sabbath...with a better vocalist than Ozzy. Yeah, I said it.
  2. Oh, c'mon, it wasn't that bad. I still can't stop thinking about her tongue. Second only to Gene Simmons...but a lot prettier than Gene Simmons... EDIT: ...with the caveat that I'm single. And a pervert. And with the maturity of a 12-year-old (as I was reminded the other day). So YMMV. EDIT #2: I figured out what all that tongue-lolling was about! And it had nothing to do with Gene Simmons. She was derpin'! Twerkin' and derpin'! I have to wonder, though -- was the tongue-lolling choreographed? Were there exercises?
  3. Also: Miley @ VMA's (learned of this after the fact) -- this is actually the cleaner of the two images I've seen: @_@ I kind of like the fact that she's willing to get freaky, but it just contrasts so much with her image that I'm familiar with...also, I feel old. Also: Um...
  4. "As a Child, I would Make Noises..."
  5. Oh, hey look, Simon Pegg does that thing, too (only he uses asterisks).
  6. I didn't assume the cheetah was male. Maybe the controversy was bestiality this time.
  7. Wait -- in what twisted world is "nipples" "bad-mouthing"? Everyone likes nipples.
  8. A Swarm of the Sun, Zenith -- quite good, ackshully, considering I stumbled upon it by mistake (was looking for an act named Zenith) Genre: hard rock/metal
  9. The 25 funniest autocorrects of DYAC's first year -- some of these are really good
  10. I think he's talking about the 007 mk2s. EDIT: Nope, says right there, "...same thing with the 009...". I'm glad you mentioned this -- I do remember liking the mk2 as a more "rock'n'roll" headphone, and the fart just kills the listening experience for me in the same way the honk kills it for Birgir. Just goes to show -- everyone has their priorities. I hardly noticed the honk at all, the one time I remember listening to it. (And it was when the mk2 had just been released, I think.) I do remember the mk1 as being a tad more refined, but that may have been because the bass wasn't overshadowing the treble (i.e., we're reaching the limitations of what my ears can tell the difference between...). I do also remember them being really close, but I was coming from a largely dynamic headphone background. So Todd's description of this is it pretty much applies to all electrostatic headphones to me, because once you get used to the electrostatic "house sound", they're all better than dynamics. (My oversimplified HO.)
  11. And then the Franz Ferdinand first listen of Right Thoughts, Right Words, Right Action
  12. This. Thanks for the link, Mikey.
  13. Ditto. Thanks for the link.
  14. This is real -- glass, electrostatic top, dynamic bottom: Pro subwoofers -- they remind me of the old Krell Master Reference subwoofers:
  15. I got treated to dinner and a movie by a certain lady friend. Really depressing movie, but a very lovely evening. Admittedly, she's married, so it's not like it's a date or anything. I'm just going to have one drink, say I had a lovely time, and go home.
  16. Mackie used to have some pretty funny shit on their boxes and website as well.
  17. Jeffy seems pretty happy with his. And I don't think you should discount current owners -- cables still break, drivers still break, they still need service, so that question goes to current owners, too.
  18. I posit that the couch is demodulating the FM and then remodulating it into AM and then retransmitting...who am I kidding, I got nothing. WTF? How many gypsies did you piss off?
  19. I stand corrected. I think I was remembering the price of JH16 + JH3A, but with the current "freqphase" iteration, the JH3A is no longer necessary (by all accounts).
  20. I think only one of JH13's and JH16's are under US$1.5K.
