  1. Moar Turisas -- this stuff really makes me smile. Right up there with The Crown (albeit completely different).
  2. Turisas, Stand Up and Fight -- Viking metal with clean vocals -- stately, majestic, power metal. Melikey. Cover of "Broadsword" (originally by Jethro Tull) in the style a plus.
  3. Happy Birthday! (herein lies the noise of the party favour, not limited to 20Hz to 20kHz, but it probably is...)
  4. Happy Birthday! (aðila hag hávaða) (feel free to tell me I didn't get that right)
  5. Worm is Green, Glow -- recommended by Spotify because I listened to All India Radio, I like it. You know their recommendation engine is good when they recommend you things you already like, but they need to figure out a way not to re-recommend things they've already recommended.
  6. Hand iPhone to doctor, done. Me, yesterday: went and visited my mother. She looked at me, but could hardly change facial expression, much less communicate. I posited a theory to my sister (primary caretaker) that it was allergies, and apparently she's been off allergy medicine and was immediately put back on. Yay, me. We'll still have to wait and see if this has any effect. I did get her to smile by showing her a video of Bobby, so she's still in there.
  7. Re: cat pic -- wow, that's trust. Willem Defoe, Willem Defoe, and Willem Defoe, in 3 different short films.
  8. Tangram, Mise en Pièces...except for the track, "Zombie", which for some reason, won't play (Spotify). Groovy French ...uh...post-new-wave?
  9. Luther s03e01 Not to be confused with Luthier s01e03 The adventures of a stringed instrument maker ...
  10. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------^ Product placement.
  11. Indukti, Idmen -- prog metal, kinda Tool-ish right now ("Nemesis Voices"), but goes back and forth between full-on screamo and instrumental -- definitely my kind of thing...when I'm angry.
  12. Happy belated! (party favour noise...with lots of reverb so it sounds like a distant echo...okay, maybe not that distant just 24 hours distant or so...)
  13. The style is definitely Katsuhiro Otomo, so I'd guess Memories. Which I've seen, but don't remember the scene. But seeing as that's the dress that she's wearing if you search on "Katsuhiro Otomo Memories", I'm pretty sure it is.
  14. Stripmall Architecture, Suburban Reverb
  15. Biscuit with fried chicken, mac&cheese and cole slaw Sent from mah phone-blet via Tapatalk
  16. Can you get a Synology NAS and load it with SSDs? The other reason to go SSD is for less moving parts noise. Sent from mah phone-blet via Tapatalk
  17. Yeezh, Jeff. Sent from mah phone-blet via Tapatalk
  18. Birdeatsbaby, Feast of Hammers -- this is great -- cabaret rock in the mode of Dresden Dolls, with some other instruments (so: femme vox, piano, drums, bass, violin and vocals)...I'll definitely be checking out their other albums. They were recommended to me by Spotify by way of Pitchfork's similarities engine (I think) because I listened to Scarling and Magneta Lane, both of which I did indeed like. But I have to admit, I wouldn't have gone there. But if it's based on other people with the same tastes, I've gotta say, it worked. It doesn't always, but damn, this is a find.
  19. Corelia, Nostalgia (Instrumental) -- this is sublime -- think nu-metal without the horrid vocals, and then progify it. Change change change change change... And fucking tight.
  20. They certainly seem priced at the it's-the-most-expensive-therefore-it-must-be-the-best crowd. I.E., "this".
  21. This sentence is correct.[/grammar police] This sentence is less than perfect.[/the lesser known capitalization police]
  22. It looks like you can tighten the screws on that one. You know, like a torture device. 1.5 lbs.?!?!? What's it made out of, cast iron?
  23. Gazpacho, Andando por Las Ramas -- I really like both Gazpacho's, the prog band and this one, the latin pop one.
