Eye appointment. Doctor had a wonderful bedside manner. But now my pupils are dilated, and everything looks glossy, like 1970's psychedelia and/or porn. If you thought blue LED's were bad before, it's now piercing. On the bright side, she recommended I go home before nightfall and stay there, so I'm a-drinkin'.

Elder -- weird combination of stoner and prog metals -- long song structures, some excellent jamming, fat dirty sputtering 60's/70's-ish guitar tones. Love.

Yeezh. On the one hand, I like bats, because they eat bugs, especially mosquitoes. But on the other, I wouldn't want them on my ceiling neither -- in a nearby cave is plenty close enough. Aren't they literally rats with wings? And yet, that is usually reserved for pigeons. Okay, here's a silver lining for you: at least it wasn't a pigeon.

Seriously. If Laura Prepon doesn't get an Emmy nom, the world isn't fair. The expression on her face when she says, "of course you do"...wow. I had to watch that scene like 3 times. Role of a lifetime. And I was already a fan, but nothing beforehand compares to this. EDIT #1: that entire conversation is one for the books. Just...unholy carp, where did that come from? EDIT #2: Just finished season one myself -- unholy carp, that was amazing. EDIT #3: I love the fact that they represent evangelical Christians as trailer trash. That's pretty much my view of them in real life, if a bit oversimplified.

Nick Cave & the Bad Seeds, Abattoir Blues/The Lyre of Orpheus -- I know most people disagree, but this is their apex for me. Just perfection from beginning to end, even with the silly flutes, that's just comedy gold right there.

Tropical Smoothies actually do a couple green ones. I almost tried one the other day.

I've had that problem, and in my case I had a particularly revealing system that adhered too much to the output of my DAC. In my case, the solution was to get a smoother DAC.

This was ridiculously entertaining.
