Dude could up his presentation an iota. Me: still stuck on Helloween, alternating with the Pete Namlook tribute fan contributions, and miscellaneous stuff in between.

Finally finished Arrested Development season 4. There better be more, that's all I'm saying, that was such an amazing return to form. Started Orphan Black, will probably seek out the rest, ditto Hannibal.

Yeezh dude. Be careful with that percocet with alcohol chaser.

DIY Сделать его сами Only then will you know that it's the best that it can be. Только тогда вы будете знать, что это сильный как медведь. -
I don't think hardly anyone does yet.

I do get everywhere, but since there's a conflict of interest, I'll let someone else answer.

Yeah, plan to read the article this weekend, will be curious what inaccuracies you find between the two. Not a big deal, it's just that I recently discovered that YOU CAN'T TRUST EVERYTHING YOU READ AND HEAR! (throws table) Me: Austra, Feel it Break/Olympia alternately

Jeremy Siepmann's Classics Explained version is fairly wonderful listening. Sent from mah phone-blet via Tapatalk

Exactly. Even if you never get out during the daylight (happened to me once in San Diego), at the end of the day, you still know where you are. Sent from mah phone-blet via Tapatalk

In Russian! -
Make him grab the shit-covered handle and then wrap your hand around his so that it has to stay there during negotiations. Then when you let go, say, "that's alright, I already cleaned it. Fooled ya! But I'm still holding you to your part of the bargain..."

Yeah, I know (we're getting off topic), but thanks for the information anyway (no, really).

"Drain wire" always makes me think of that Dilbert cartoon with the boss emptying the bit bucket. Also, that's not what I was taught -- that's more to prevent ground loops (my understanding -- could be wrong -- wouldn't mind knowing the reasoning behind that). My knowledge comes from my dad, and my dad's business was satellite communications, and two-suitcase satellite telephony (80's), so a lot of systems had to be "standalone". Unfortunately, I never fully understood the difference between star ground and daisy chain ground, so I will admit that I never "got" grounding schemes. Oh. You're right. I just conducted a thought experiment, and if you only look at the headphone cable and headphones, and treat the amplifier as a black box, then as long as you don't have a DC offset (which you don't want anyway for a variety of reasons), you're right, it "doesn't care", and should by its very nature be symmetrical, and cancel out common mode interference. Huh...now I gotta rethink why they use balanced cables on microphones so avidly.

I don't know what's wrong with you people, I understand him perfectly. He is awaiting arrival of the Berkeley Audio Design DAC, and he's going to do a direct comparison. KnyazHM, please post both the original Russian and your translations from now on, so if there's any confusion, we can go back to the original text. -
What about common-mode rejection? The strict definition requires that the two channels have the same impedance to ground, so even if there's only two channels in transmission, there's still an implied 3rd channel by having both channels of both sides relative to ground. EDIT: Or in the case of typical dynamic headphones, where there's no ground on the non-amplifying end, you still need to balance the amplifier end to be able to call the transmission balanced and receive the benefit of common-mode rejection.

Four signals plus ground...or two signals plus ground per channel. I mean, unless you're a hard core monaural apologist.

"freight handling at guangzhou airport" got close-captioned as "free trade agreement". Yes. That. That color. That exact color. I'm printing it out and taking it with me to the shop. -
That's some pretty fucked up shit right there, Jacob. Translation: yeezh. I just get tired of saying, "yeezh", all the time.

It's all in the design, weight has nothing to do with anything. Other than if it's heavier, then it should probably be on the bottom. Это что она сказала. -
I'm probably not the best person to have this discussion, but truly balanced as I was taught is +/-/ground, I.E. you have two sides of opposite polarity, both amplifying relative to ground.

[bluth voice]That album?[/bluth] I actually had checked that album out a couple weeks ago. Sorry, I don't hear the goth. Indie electronica, yes, and very nice indie electronica, medigs, but I just don't hear the goth. Perhaps I need to go back and listen to the first album? Me, now: "Dead Drop", by Cypher 7 -- I love this track. Those first 2+ minutes are pure bliss.

The switch took it?

I think you just need to realize that this forum is less about being nuts about headphones, and more about being more generally nuts. And also analogously, you wouldn't let a crazy person into an insane asylum, would you? I mean, you'd check them in, but you wouldn't just let an obviously crazy person to run amok without a tether...?
