  1. Australia FTW! "...D.S. al Coda..."
  2. Happy Birthday!
  3. Happy Birthday!
  4. "...restless...syndrome..." Trust in your own ears, Elephas. You are happy with your system. These are not the droids you are looking for. (waves hand mysteriously)
  5. "Fingercuffs"
  6. You should get impressions.
  7. Are we being paired up, or will it be daisy-chained? I think it should be daisy-chained.
  8. ImageShack fail.
  9. Bring your iPhone with you, so that they can see that you're not immediately going to ask for a fix/replacement.
  10. Yeah, just googling, it looks like multiple cores can help. Also, make sure you get an OpenGL compatible card (yes, laptops now come with graphics cards -- you can always add a monitor later), because it looks like Photoshop is one of the earliest applications (makes sense when you think about it) to utilize GPU acceleration techniques. EDIT: Yes, definitely upgrade the graphics card -- Nvidia are one of the leading manufacturers in the GPU acceleration business.
  11. No, I wear it correctly (in order to tell time without contorting).
  12. It's a limited edition: Nixon Barney's collaboration. (2nd link to purchase.) If you are anywhere near a Barney's or Barney's Co-op, you can see it first. Nixon also sells similar ones without all the gold bling on their website as well as on Amazon. I should warn you -- they're huge. I used to wear them only once or twice a week until I stopped hitting myself in the forehead from the momentum every time I looked at the time, then every other day. Now I could wear them every day, but I don't by choice.
  13. I take it off to set the time twice a year and that's it. It's a diver's watch, so the one big one in the middle you have to screw down and un-screw up anyway, so even if it was the other way, you'd have a hard time manipulating it. I wear it on my left hand. I don't even know (nor care) what the other two buttons do. (If anyone's curious, I've got the manual right here; I just have no reasons of my own to crack it.) Oh, and now: the next Stripmall Architecture album.
  14. Too. No. I don't think they consider this a lefty watch, a lot of them are like that.
  15. Photoshop is a resource pig; whatever you do, beforehand or after, max out on RAM (I.E. make sure it goes beyond 4Gb, and get a 64-bit operating system). Let me email a friend of mine who basically lives in photoshop, and see if multiple cores help (IIRC, I think not), in which case I'd also recommend getting the fastest CPU you can in there. You may even want to get something that has a SSD.
  16. We still want pics, Mr. T. Sloth!
  17. LOL
  18. I have mixed feelings on the subject, so I'll let the community decide. Pro: I, too, would like to be introduced to random/unheard/whatever music; Con: I have a very large music collection, so the practical side of me says that whoever is buying from me should probably check for duplicates. As a compromise, I offer the following suggestion: Give a list of potential items, let the recipient veto whatever they feel like. It's up to the honor of the recipient not to do too much research if they want to be surprised...or not...(that doesn't need to be a community decision, pairs can do it however they like)... You can give me Genetic, I think I know his tastes well enough... Also, why don't you give it one more day, and PM people who might be interested, but may not check the board as frequently as last year (such as Luminette).
  19. I think he meant the meet.
  20. See picture. Amazon.com: Invicta Lupah Grand Metalic 2446 (Men's Watch) : Swiss Made ETA 1/60 Split Second Chronograph: Invicta: Watches
  21. Pfff.
  22. Nice!
  23. Me too!
  24. Are you in Europe? That sounds like PAL or SECAM. Over here, it is recommended to go from 60 Hz to 120 Hz or 240 Hz because it's an even multiple of 24 fps, so the maths are easier. Going from 50 Hz to 100 Hz doesn't make the maths any easier (because it's still based on 24 fps), so you lose that. It could still theoretically be good, but you really need to go into a store and see for yourself. Look for a scene where they pan side to side. If you can't tell the difference on the material that they're showing you, then I wouldn't get it. They're probably not showing it to you for a reason ("most people can't tell the difference" being my guess).
