DIY Mini Meet in Austin
I had no idea the F5 was so huge

Which SS amp would you use to drive Sennheisers from Esoteric source?
YJPS tend to be lower current designs don't they, supplying half an amp max? AMB's S11 is probably a better bet.

I remember that - cameos by Matt Damon, Kristin Kreuk and Lucy Lawless. Lots of bare boobs in that movie....... and disturbingly, lots of bare penises

What did you do today?
Removing and replacing the grout in my bathroom tiles. Re-gluing the tiles that were being held up only by the grout and thus fell off the wall

The 10 Wackiest Headphones
They probably know about all of those, but don't get click through ad revenue from them and are thus ignored.

My very own Beta 22 thread
Yeaaaaaaahhhhhhh, I wouldn't connect ANY amp boards to it until I had the output voltage sorted out correctly. I would also do some checking of things on the amp boards as well. All the resistances to ground, cap orientation, resistor values, etc etc.

That sounds like it is not regulating. 30VAC is ~42V when rectified to DC, minus some losses, 37-39V output is probably appropriate. Well beyond my skill level to debug it though

Don't let the music fool you - this is absolutely mental. You can't help but be impressed.

If we knew that, I would be out of that job Philistine! It is a little bit. It is a project with both engineers and biologists and some very cool tools doing some very cool things. I'm very lucky to be a part of it. Sweet!

Biomedical research, broadly in asthma. Moving for two years, more if I can win a grant or two. Thanks! We should have all the appropriate visas, so unless they think that my MiniMax and y1 are terrorist bombs, I am hopeful it will be OK

New Woo Audio Electrostatic Headphone Amp!
I doubt you will be far off. As I said over there, "Wild speculation: cheaper than the BHSE stock, more expensive with Woo's usual upgrade packages" Well below the A-10, but it is unfortunate that people will miss out on all that awesome pre-amp action

Check. NFI to answer your question regarding testing it. What I do know is that it is just a few cents to replace.

Two one way tickets from: Perth to Tokyo Tokyo to Detroit Detroit to Halifax Canada, here I come! :D Though I have no idea how I am going to get everything done that needs to be done in the four and a bit weeks before departure

Check the output resistors first - R12, 13, 14 and 15. I recall reading on Head Wize that they are almost like fuses when you short the outputs. Though they are only 0.47 ohm resistors; many multimeters are not accurate that low. By measuring the resistance, you are actually charging the capacitor. It causes funky readings.

New Woo Audio Electrostatic Headphone Amp!
From WES Electrostatic Headphone Amplifier * Standard Features: Point-to-Point Wiring * Four EL34 power tubes * Four 6SL7 [PDF] drive tubes * Two 5AR4 [PDF] rectifier tube. Direct substitute: 5U4GB * Two selectable balanced inputs * Two selectable unbalanced inputs * One 5-pin pro bias output * One HE-90 output * More to come... I agree. Simple, clean and understated beats bling any day. I really like how the tubes are guarded.

Buffalo32S DAC
Yes. As manoax2 said there are other options, but the option of direct USB input is universal; good for resale. I don't see why. Computer as source sometimes gets a bum rap...... but with good software, drivers, lossless music etc etc on a fast computer, there is no reason why it shouldn't be a very good option.

New RSA amp...
I'm the same. I also find that how good music sounds to me is VERY dependent on my mood, level of caffeination, alcohol etc. These psychological and physiological effects are MUCH more substantial than any physical effects of burn-in. But people get very defensive if you tell them that they can't always trust their senses 100%......
