  8. So sorry. I had read about her being quite sick a few weeks ago. RIP
  9. Thanks Jeff. I only have personal experience with one Nikon lens and I felt a bit deceived with its mechanical performance too, compared to equivalent Pentax. 0 experience with Canon DSLR glass. It's good to know that tweaking Nikon settings and without going into laborious edition one can get the same warm and vivid look of the Canon pics.
  10. How do you like them, Jeff? I'm on a different computer than my usual one. I find them a bit obscure and lacking color liveliness compared to other of your pics, which I find wonderful most of the times
  11. I can agree with Birgir when he said a few posts ago that the 009 sounds as though it had a cutoff. To me it lacks the body and soul the 007 bass has, or the LCD-2's for that matter. OTOH the 009 is even faster, more resolving, airier and three dimensional than the 007. I love both, I don't regret having purchased the 009, nor will ever get rid of the 007. But to each one his own, I can understand why some people would think the 007 can be held as more "complete", and others would think of the 009 as "superior". If I were pressed to own just one, I haven't made my mind up yet. If I could keep the LCD-2, then I'd keep the 009, if not, it's very likely I'd end up with just the 007, but not completely sure yet. Fortunately I don't have to make such decisions
  12. I think this has been asked before, however, S95 or S100? I can have the S100 for 435 euros which is a better price than the best I've been able to find online. I like this camera for having the batteries compatible with other Ixus models. I have 3 or 4 batteries which I could use. It has a bit more resolution and higher lens zooming range than the S95. I don't care (as for now) about the HD video. The S95 is again available at discount prices, like 230GBP (278 euros). Great savings for a very good camera. Any of them would be to "upgrade" our current P&S, so in a small form factor we can have shoots on raw format, better quality, and manual operation, all things pretty desirable.
  13. Very nice Nate, I'm sure she'll love it more as she grows older

It's not really a video, but an interesting comparison of 8 different sopranos singing the "tough part" of the Queen of the Night aria
  16. That office looks cozy yet functional, I like it. Glad to see you more relaxed, Vicki. I wish tough times are a thing of the past
  17. Happy Birthday good sir
  18. It's sick so many of them are wearing (and listening I fear) those damn Beats
  19. plus three
  20. You're very welcome. I've listened to each of the ones you've sent twice, and are still in the heavy rotation pile
  21. Happy Birthday Luis!!!!
  22. Hehehe, I had missed this comment Sorry for those unacceptable ebony knobs, you may send them to me if you wish. I'd pay the shipping
  23. Thanks for sharing. Interesting. An acquaintance who lives about 350 miles away has recently purchased a VPI Classic. I can't recall what cart he's going to use. I might have a chance to listen to that one, but I don't know when, probably not soon.
  24. How would you define the VPI house sound? Never read/heard about it from a reliable source
  25. Hehehe, I haven't every used a VPI, just saw an old HW-19 Jr, but didn't get to listen to it, so I don't know how VPI compares to NA. I have the Hyperspace, but have listened to the Spacedeck and also the Interspace. I can't dare to judge the sound of a deck in a system which is not my own rig, but in all cases I've liked the results.
