The Official Head-Case Photography Thread.
Torpedo replied to Knuckledragger's topic in Miscellaneous
Thank you for your thoughtful and elaborated posts. Since I didn't ever take seriously digital photo, I've been keeping the thought that any lens suitable to shoot film with good quality should fare fine to shoot digital no matter the pixels resolution. I'm starting to realize that this is most likely wrong. At what chip resolution do older lenses start to be in trouble? I mean if you're looking for accuracy. -

The lenses are this bunch: EF 24 - 70 mm 1: 2.8 L USM EF 16 - 35 1: 2.8 mm L II USM EF 70 - 200 1: 2.8 mm IS II USM EF 28 mm 1:1.8 EF 50 mm 1:1.4 EF 100 mm 1:2 Just the 70-200 zoom at 2.8 aperture is worth 1500€ Usage has been really low. My friend bought all this because he was planning a career change that didn't happen and has barely used the camera, if anything, just for photography, not video. He also has a Leica that is the one he's actually using. After standing on it for a night I'm rather convinced that I wouldn't be using it, the body is too heavy and bulky and I would have very little use for such glass galore by now, maybe when I retire I'd use it a lot more. I'd consider it an investment. -

Any opinions about the Canon EOS 5D mkII? I know it's somewhat oldish and that there are better and more modern full frame chips out there, but some personal experience reports will be well appreciated. It would come with 6 very good lenses, 3 zoom ones and 3 primes . I've got a friend selling his rig. -
Best wishes, stay safe, Nate.

At 3300€ plus the external PSU, which I don't know how much it costs, it better sounds amazing

Happy Birthday, Mike!!! Enjoy a great day.

There are plenty of Kintsugi kits, lacquer, adhesives, etc on Amazon for that. I'd give it a try.

Happy Birthday, Grahame! I wish it's a wonderful day.

I wouldn't mind having one. -
Check Adam Neely's channel at Youtube. He has a few videos about bass lessons and has his educational site at one of his sponsor's web, not sure if Nebula. In his youtube has a lot of interesting videos related to music theory, rhythm, ear training...

More jazz for a sunny morning. It's 14º (50ºF) outside, that should be 5-6º (41ºF) if things were normal. Enjoying of a few vacation days they owed me. Chick Corea Akoustic Band: Live I think I've posted this before. It's so damn fucking good

Condolences, Todd. RIP Chris.

Rotem Sivan - Antidote It's available on Qobuz and probably other streaming services on better sound quality than free Bandcamp. I found this guitarist on YouTube for he posts some lessons on theory, which end up being more about his perception of music and tone than tips you can use on your playing or training. Either way his music is not conventional yet not being weird or "too free". This album also sounds terrific.

I rarely browse the forum on the phone or the tablet, so here I can just do what High Sierra allows, but for sure I can try that new feature on the iPhone.

I'm on a Mac that isn't running Monterey, so I can't do that.
