That does it! I am sending mine back for the proper art. How hard can this be? And if they have to rebuild them then I want a darker red color too!

You buy things without Dacses in them?

Gotta love the Curtis Counce! I am in Mayberry listening to the balanced vintage RS-1s and PS-1s from the SDS-XLR and I just gotta thank ironbut again for reviving this beast. It may be a pain in the ass, but I love this amp. Oh, and I gotta thank JP for the RS-1s! (Just rubbing it in a bit, sorry JP) Anyway, now playing: Joshua Redman -- Moodswing

When I was at the Englander the other day, I actually thought we could make it work. We might need to have a door monitor, but if we split up that duty it could work. The only other problem is the power outlets and capacity. That might sink it.... I think JP was going to talk to the owner and investigate further.

Yay Dinny and Fitz! Nice choices.

I might be idealizing the initial experience and improvement but I think there may have been a slightly better SQ out of the earlier version. Like JP, I have never A/B'd them so it is all memory and conjecture, but Tim Maurutani has spent many hours comparing all aspects of the system and I believe he told me he thinks the earlier one was better and might have recommended sticking with it. In fact, as I type this, I remember he sent me an earlier version to try out. It had less functionality and I just didn't want to go backwards so I never tried it. Splitting hairs is all it is, to my mind. I'm amazed that Jeff still does not hear a bigger difference in his setup with Amarra off vs. on. I know that for me it is quite clear and it sounds like Stretch has heard the difference so I have to wonder if any settings are screwy. Not tried to sound like too much of a convert/true believer but your gear is resolving and you have good ears, and gotta think it would be more obvious. Also, is the limitation on 24/96 that you have a ULN-2? I thought the Perfect Wave went all the way, so you should be able to use the ULN-2 as a FireWire converter/interface and send the digital output to the PW for 192/188/176. Maybe the digital output would be limited, but that seems odd to me. I would assume it is just the DAC that is 24/96. What do I know, but it might be worth a shot. Oh, and Stretch, call the SS office number and see if you catch them. They may well be there today and they could hook you up with the iLok registry. Good luck.

Ce qu'il a dit ^^ Sorry I didn't know it was your birthday or I would have started a thread for you too! Hope it was a good one. Cheers!

Happy Birthday Ric! Hope you get double the presents and double the rum on your special day of days. Cheers!

It sounds really good with the DAC, and I had that version for several weeks on the loaner program and for DanJam. Did you not hear it there? I think I *might* prefer the Pico DAC, but I didn't really do head-to-head comparisons. I think the TTVJ amp is better sounding and on balance would choose it over the Pico. When I bought one, I went with the amp only version because I just don't really use the Pico with DAC too often and for now I have both (well, Dom has the Pico physically) so I could pick that one for laptop usage when needed. I also think the TTVJ handles a wider range of cans with the gain switch and seemingly higher output. JP heard the amp/dac for awhile on loan, and Vicki and Doug and others heard it at DanJam I think.

Happy birthday Ken, and make sure you are a good boy today so that Santa doesn't put you on the naughty list at the last minute! Cheers!

The Feelies are one of the best of any decade in my book. That better be in the box, big boy! I have The Good Earth digitized somewhere to throw in there too.

HoHoHo! Santa can make any excuse he wants for a little R&R, although I would prefer my cookies with a little B&B or some such. Erm, isn't that one of their touted benefits, oh true believer? Awesome, dude. Can 12 year olds drink in Atlantis? Cause that would make it all the better... Jeez, I got drinking on my mind. Better get going to JP's to pick up the Amarra Model 4 so's I can's get my hi-rez on over Christmas. And for a little beer drinking and music listening since I'm there.

I am not part of your "all" so maybe you shouldn't speak for me. Some people did think the HD800 wasn't innovative, but I think they are wrong in terms of the application and the execution and related technologies. Reading the related Senn patents would lead to the same conclusion for some but not all people on this forum. On the other hand, based not on specific knowledge of the T1 but only on repeated exposure to shitty Beyer headphones, I have concluded that these headphones aren't worth their price or otherwise "special" in any way. I realize I could be proven wrong, but I doubt it.

Literally the only music that would console our then-infant daughter for a substantial period was Esquivel's Space Age Bachelor Pad Music. It was funny for awhile and then I couldn't barely stand to hear that disc any more.

Really too bad truth in advertising laws don't require those to be called "Turd Smugglers" or similar.

Any real Kinks fan will love that Choral Collection, even though as one review pointed out it should have been kalled the Kinks Khoral Kollection to honor tradition. Anyway, the Rockhopper Twitter feed prompted this one: Aimee Mann -- One More Drifter in the Snow

Fred was overcooked when he wrote that.

Correct.

Congrats on the great-looking new site, Stephen, and best of luck with the new business model. It seems like the right choice and gives you a lot more control over work flow, etc. Plus, now I know that you have 14 gadgets and want 3 more gadgets! Cheers.

Thinking of trying out Ultrasones... bad idea?

It's so nice when things work out peacefully and without the need for shovels.
