What's in da baaaahhhhhxxxxx? Some parts. Darker blue than we thought. Happiest kid in the world in this moment. **BRENT**

  • Liked the Turbo Vado Super Light so much, I bought another one in Michigan. Same silver and black. We couldn't find Claire an SL in Northern Michigan or online so we got her the  regular Turbo Vado 5.

  • I bought an e-bike. Specialized Turbo Vado 5.0 Super Light 2022 edition. Claire got a 4.0 step-through.

Haha, there are always budget options. I usually go for end gmae stuff, but bills and all that. :)

Thanks for the link, I'll have a look later tonight. ;)

After mornings outside when the temps are in the 30s I could get used to going out when it is already 70 at dawn in Hawaii.

Slowly but surely continuing to improve.

I've got a long way to go before I can challenge Nate for FTW (w/kg I have no chance), but its amazing how much a little bit of regular riding improves your cardio.

Hell yeah, Adam!  The only advice I have is get after it and as someone else I follow on Strava would say, "This suffering is a privilege."

Well, maybe one more thing - don't ever worry about comparisons to others.  One of my good friends from 30+ years ago rides 8,000+ miles a year (pilot) and when he rides centuries with us barely breaks 140bpm at 50+ years old.  I just can't be him. I'm a year younger but have always outweighed him by 40lbs even when we're both fit.  He also doesn't know how to have fun, so as usual balance is the answer.

I’m starting to get sucked in to watching the professional races. Yes, they are on in the middle of the night, but the replays work just fine. The strategy is interesting and the knucklehead-ism (as Chris Horner would say) is amusing. The racing is quite a bit more exciting than the early F1 season.

Milan-Sanremo should be fun this weekend.

Rode 20 miles with a fair amount of climbing in the heat today and felt like I had done something. But then I watched the 150th Milano - Torino race that was a bit longer with more climbing. Oh well. HBO Max and Peacock have way more cycling during the classics season than was available here before and I watch lots of it.

Now that was a race! Pogi! What a beast.

A very exciting Sunday in Hell. No spoilers this time!

Apropos of Roubaix, I put some 40mm slicks on to try out. I am very interested to see how they feel.

Spring is the perfect time to get out on long rides before the staggering summer heat comes my way.

LOVING the 40mm tires. They are maybe a little sluggish on accelerations but they ride so smooth and are ace on descents.

I'm also starting to love climbing on this thing. You really have no choice but to put down the power once the grade gets to be over 8-9% and you are already in the little cog.

Signed up for my first (metric) century!

I am a little worried about all the climbing, but it is split up into four climbs and a bunch of rollers, none of which are beyond my ability. Should be fun to train for.

It sounds like too much for my old body but I will be out of state then anyway. Good luck with the training and have a great time riding in West Marin.

You'll fuel up with appropriate cheese stops, right?

ImageDipping in to the structured workouts on Zwift. What a cool tool. I like how they have little drills built in like working on different cadences or emphasizing different parts of the pedal stroke. Erg mode is also nice to get a feel for what it feels like to hold steady power, something I'm not that good at yet.

I'm glad I didn't start out with this and just rode the bike for months, but I can only see it benefitting my outdoor rides.

Now we are using My Whoosh... no bad.
