Some more hesitant consumers of casu marzu (myself included) prefer to place the cheese in a sealed bag prior to eating it. The CO2 builds up quickly, suffocating the larvae, and they jump and hit the sides of the bag before dying. It's lot holding a bag of microwave popcorn while it's in the microwave.

If they're freshly dead, the cheese isn't toxic. Bad news? Not so delicious.

Clearly I have an issue with "standards".

He was on the TV news here today. Needed about four people to help carry it all. Can't say I blame him as Westpac are regularly shown to be one of the worst banks here in consumer evaluations. Seems he didn't get any photos of himself with it all out on display which is a shame.
