On-semi are discontinuing all of their TO-92 products because of a disagreement with a subcontractor. List includes all the MPSWs....

just to make sure. And at 1000 pieces, dirt cheap.

 

TT electronics is probably the best bet, have to get a quote from mouser

so group buy kind of thing.

mpsa06/mpsa56 can be substituted everywhere except the outputs on the kgdynalobal

(have to check power levels on dynahi)

Just ordered for my second SuSy Dynalo set.... Looks like this affects the KSA5 clone also.

I bought 1000 of each type because... well I'm nuts.  I've spent way too much on transistors this month though.... 

Any reason to stock up if you're not building a Dynalo? Looks like the BC550/560 pair could be a drop in replacement unless you need the extra dissipation.

KGSSHV/KGST/KGSSHV Carbon etc. all use these. 

Many of the things that On-semi are now dropping seem to have equivalents (or near-enough equivalents) from Fairchild and others, except if you need/want the MPSW 1W package.

 

That said, I'd never thought I see the day where I considered stockpiling BC547Bs just to be safe...

How is the KGSSHV Carbon coming? Any impressions on a prototype?

I all but abandoned the project when the difference between new and old 009's came to light but I did just order PCB's for it.  Who knows when I'll build them though...

Nice to hear. Although the IMHO the KGST is really magical with the old 009. It leaves almost nothing to wish for.
