January 31, 201610 yr Author Been watching the 24 Hours at Daytona. Pretty great race. A video from one of the Audi teams.
February 21, 201610 yr Nate, it looks like I will have to make it to your neck of the woods at some point: https://teamoneil.com Rally school... Yes please
February 21, 201610 yr A good pal of mine running a full weight wagon at a 1/4 mile track in Florida (Palm Beach International Raceway). Crazy quick and fast. Zero drama... Took him a good while to get it where it is now, but it sure looks to have paid off. vroom vroom.... HS

Yes please That's been on the bucket list for a while. It'll happen, someday. I really want to take their winter driving school.
March 3, 201610 yr I'm giving some pretty serious thought to the Focus RS as a car that will still carry the 3 kids in the back but I can have fun with. We have room for a 3rd car so leaving the Odyssey sitting in the driveway is a serious option. We were looking at getting some nicer luxury cars but it makes more sense to spend more money on two cheaper cars but get we actually want. Meaghan is looking at some of the smaller crossovers from Volvo, BMW, MB and others and I've always wanted a pocket rocket.

My sister drives a Focus (not RS) and the back seat is fine for 2 adults or three kids. I think if you buy an ST or RS you get a free racing school day here:
March 4, 201610 yr The local dealer has one more slot for ordering one. No word yet on if they are asking for markup over MSRP. If it doesn't work out there are now 3 DSG Golf R in stock locally.
March 4, 201610 yr Are you buying in the UK? I had one experience purchasing a new vehicle in London and it was interesting. Very different than purchasing one in the U.S. HS
March 4, 201610 yr I should have been more direct and asked where he is based. The Ford looks European to me. I do not know everyone here. HS
March 4, 201610 yr Seriously though, Chris, Focus isn't nearly big enough for you and three kids. Go back to the super wagon -- E63, RS6 Avant -- you'll be much happier.
March 4, 201610 yr My wife can fit 3 car seats in her Prius... I think the Focus will be fine. Nothing you would want to take a road trip in, but short rides are perfectly fine. That said.... RS6 Avant!
March 4, 201610 yr FWIW I'd skip the Golf R. In addition to VW being a shitty corporate citizen lately I've seen it reviewed fairly poorly from some auto-journalists whose opinions I trust. E63 AMG wagon would be nice
March 4, 201610 yr Re: Europe, the RS is just very recently available in the stares, so it's not too big of an issue to think of it like that. Zach, your wife is a solid foot shorter than Chris, so... http://m.ebay.com/itm/131732598924?_mwBanner=1 **BRENT**
March 4, 201610 yr Well they want a markup of $5k (or over 10%) on the RS and that's very hard to justify. Fuck. Maybe I just wait a year or two until they are in wider production. I'm not going to lie that MB is sweet but I'd be very concerned about an eBay 10 year old second hand car. 1 hour ago, HemiSam said: I should have been more direct and asked where he is based. March 4, 201610 yr Thanks, Dreadhead. My apologies for making the leap across the pond... At that price point and AWD I like the Evo in the same size bracket. The Sti is interesting if one doesn't find the wing offensive....although the WRX is no slouch. Interestingly, I can beat up on quite a few fast RWD vehicles on a road course with my Jeep SRT given the AWD (of course the huge Brembos, beefed up suspension and 6.4L with 8-speed and paddles don't hurt) despite the 5,150lb curb weight. The vehicle is a pig, but there's a lot of joy taunting a Mustang... AWD FTW. HS
March 4, 201610 yr I think now's a great time to buy VWs. The price is low because they haven't addressed how they made the TDIs too awesome for the EPA, but they will, and then prices will go back up.
