But I have some kind of bumpy rash on the back of my neck and I'm concerned something is going to pop out and kill me. That seems really unlikely. If something that wants to kill you is already inside your body, I'd think it would just burrow in further. 1

blessingx Posted September 1, 2025 Report Posted September 1, 2025 More Eagly. More James Gunn. Season two (HBO Max).
TMoney Posted September 2, 2025 Report Posted September 2, 2025 Drive to Survive but for Tour de France. I’m quite enjoying this. Helps that some of these stages are run on absolutely spectacular roads. 3
jpelg Posted September 2, 2025 Report Posted September 2, 2025 (edited) The Thursday Murder Club (Netflix) - fun to see Brosnan & Mirren in more, er...light-hearted roles (compared to their characters in the show Mobland). Other septegenarian British heavy-hitters, including Ben Kingsley, Celia Imrie, & Jonathan Pryce provide support. Enjoyable, easy watch. Set up for a sequel, so those writers better start putting pen to a page asap! 🤭 Edited September 2, 2025 by jpelg
TMoney Posted September 3, 2025 Report Posted September 3, 2025 This Alien show rocks. Show of the year for me so far. Easily. 1

Grahame Posted September 24, 2025 Report Posted September 24, 2025 Hostage A kinetic UK based political thriller. Accept the premise, and don't think/look too hard for plot implausibilities and you'll be treated to an enjoyable ride, with episode ending twists / reveals / cliffhangers to keep you involved. Good Fun. But don't take my word for it. https://www.theguardian.com/tv-and-radio/2025/aug/21/hostage-review-suranne-jones-prime-minister-netflix-drama 1
jpelg Posted October 6, 2025 Report Posted October 6, 2025 (edited) Twisted Metal (Peacock) - An amnesiac is enlisted to drive across a post-apocalyptic USA wasteland to pickup & deliver a package on the promise of a better life. Apparently based on a series of Sony Playstation games of which I am not familiar. Think The Transporter meets Mad Max. Mackie brings the self-deprecating swagger, while Beatriz brings...herself, which is always great. Qwerky & (violently) fun. I am about halfway thru season 1, & think it's lots of fun. Grahame Posted October 7, 2025 Report Posted October 7, 2025 Mobland The same leads as The Thursday Murder Club, But an entirely different , (Guy Ritchie) vibe. Plenty of dodgy and diamond geezers in an underworld setting. Great pacing, visuals, intrigue, banter and twists. And Tom Hardy. Satisfying. MobLand review – Tom Hardy can pull off miracles! blessingx Posted October 12, 2025 Report Posted October 12, 2025 Wait, has anyone watched The Hunting Wives? Suddenly it seems interesting. 1 2
blessingx Posted October 14, 2025 Report Posted October 14, 2025 To honor Indigenous Peoples' Day I watched eight episodes of The Hunting Wives. It’s half General Hospital, half Baywatch, half Goodfellas, half Mean Girls, and half Stepford Wives with a sprinkling of real sexism & Red/Blue commentary. Sure it’s ridiculous and awful, but I’m not sure it’s bad.
Grahame Posted October 18, 2025 Report Posted October 18, 2025 House of Guinness Peaky Blinders meets Succession in Dublin's fair city complete with anachronistic rock music while walking in slow motion past dickensian scenes in the steampunk brewery. Politics, intrigue, liaisons and forbidden love. And a (duh!) cliff hanger for the next season. Did I mention the subtle product placement? But don't take my word for it.
