My daughter (almost 12) is on the yearbook staff at her magnet school. Her grade went on a field trip to the Atlanta Aquarium, and she was one of four people allowed to take a camera. I set her up wit

I've hardly taken photos in the last however many years, but what I have been doing since I got this shiny M1 Macbook Pro is blowing the dust off my editing skills. July 1, 2006, the first

2009 was one of the craziest years of my life, paralleling 1996.  I should do a photo essay on it.  That'd take more time than I have, so here's a Cliff's Notes version. The year started fairly i

10% off refurb products at Nikon this weekend.  Inventory seems to be changing regularly but there might be some nice deals in there.  D810 for 2499 plus tax is not too bad.

Took the one of Julie a while back. The one of my classmate was taken recently for a TED talk he is giving in a few days.

Thanks.  It received a cheap sample pen in the mail, and the package had a square plastic lining with dimples.  For some reason, I decided to roll it up and shine a small flash to it.

Nikon D7200 introduced.

It received some expected updates (larger buffer, new AF, new sensor) but bit surprised to see neither articulated LCD nor higher FPS.

Anybody here contribute stock photos online for royalties?

iStock just accepted my application.  Any tips or feedback?

At the very least, I'm thinking I can now deduct my camera gear on my tax returns.

If you sell photos (in america anyways) your camera equipment may no longer be covered under your normal home owners/renters insurance.

Tagging your photos properly is very important.

26 mm worth of extension tubes and some DIY macro lights.  It does not seem like anybody makes true macro ring flash for the Sony FE mount.  No surprise there..

Probably has something to do with the fact they've seemingly abandoned 3 different lens mounts in the last 3 years or so.

I kinda like the shadows a 2-light macro setup gets you.

Surely there is an aftermarket ring-flash that will work with the camera in TTL mode.

If you are willing to give up TTL metering there are TONS of generic ring-flashes.
