One thing does piss me off about AudioGD, they won't sell you the schematics even after buying the damn thing, I have never purchased anything from a car to a washing machine that I didn't buy the schematics (service manual) for. If it weren't for that I'de try one of there more expensive DAC's.

Because other Chinese will rip off the designs. And the last time I saw a schematic in the manual for a car was in the 70's. You're close to as bad as a friend of mine who wont buy other than PowerPC Macs because of what he thinks of Intel.

It just amazes me that another DAC mentioned here can have an analog stage that switches from a god awful 12au7 cathode follower to an opamp and no negatives mentioned but when a good design is presented it is slammed as having magically counterfeited chips. And I don't think its the I hate the Chinese syndrome, its more lets make a newbie look bad because he doesn't think the Sabre is the second coming. Alternative veiwpoints are a good thing, keep that in mind.

I would love to see the business plan to build hard wired silicone counterfeit PMD100 chips that trigger an HDCD on circuit when an HDCD is played. I wouldn't invest in that upstart, but the paranoia from some of us is just amazing.

I'll take that but he threw the first punch saying I was nuts about cars not releasing circuit diagrams since the 70's. That was ludicrous as I am sure anyone else knows but I do apologize if my tone was off.

With respect to service manuals, I have encountered two manufacturers recently that are not necessarily eager to share such things. Dodson and TEAC. TEAC sent the service manual, but it is not necessarily as complete as one would like. Dodson (Silversmith Audio) won't share it schematics at all. And I agree that is annoying.

The DIY guys here seem to know what theyre doing (I dont actually know if you guys know what youre doing because I dont know anything about DIY so I cant really say if you know what youre doing ) and if they see something wrong they go "hey fuckhead, thats wrong!" and thats fine with me.
