Sorry, I was being sarcastic – jokingly saying we should start a GB for the water cool chassis for T2.

Arrived yesterday and it really opens up every electrostatic headphone that I own. I was looking for an amp that can bring more bass out of my HE90 than HEV90 so I drained my pocket to bid on this and

  • I have been getting back at this..working up to a limited run of these as the STAX SR-X9000 and Audeze CRBN have made that need to happen. But the chassis is extraordinarily expensive and difficult to

  • Isn't everybody glad that I'm crazy enough to buy this stuff and have Kevin rip it apart?

There was a Chinese T2 GB?

Technically it was a Vietnamese T2 GB. Though it was one where people gave lil knight/Tran their hard earned cash and he decided to disappear with it.

Ohh that one, yeah heard know about that, I'm still waiting for one of my boards from his last GB run for the KGSSHV (till I bought John's old offboard set) but from what I heard a typhoon hit his town pretty hard and seemingly he was unable to turn up with the stuff. Whether it's true or not it sucks either way as I heard he had half of somebody's T2 order.

seems like in the world of Lambdas, the only recommended ones are the LNS (discontinued), the SR Lambda nb (discontinued), the 404LE (discontinued), or one of the entry level pro cans (20#).  Don't see a lot of love for the higher end lambdas.  I also thought the signature was a bit better thought of, but comments on the etch seem to point elsewhere.

I didn't have any "etched" Stax until now : SR-5, SR-5/NB, SR-X/mk3, Sigma Pro, Gamma Pro,  SR-007 mk1, Lambda NB and SR-009. The two latter the "brighter", but still very smooth with beautiful midrange. FR response of Lambda Signature sounds very different to me, with something glaring in the high mids my other cans don't have. It's no that unpleasant, but it sounds a bit artificial.

I'm waiting for my BHSE to make a definitive statement on my several phones...Spritzer did say one time the glaring side of Lambda Sig does largely benefit from power / authority of some BH amp.

Ali

My only remaining stats are my SR-5NB gold edition, SR-Lambda normal bias, SR-Lambda Nova Signature, and Sennheiser HE-60 > No Etch :-D

I wouldn't know anything about getting outbid on Mr. Sneis' Lambda Nova Signature in the last 4 seconds.

Nope, wasn't me.

It ended at $455, not bad.

ok...717 fiasco finally resolved. got full refund from paypal for the damaged amp. now on to smaller and better things...someone says they have one of birgir's kgsshv minis that they'd let go to a new home...methinks i should jump on it.

damn someone bought birgir's Orppheus LNS? I'm jealous, having 10k USD of funding for stax r&d must be fun

Well hence the added rolls eye indication of sarcasm.  ;D

That one has nothing to do with the SRX...

As you would expect from Audio Valve, major fail all around.

has anyone here purchased any extra 009 earpads? was wondering where to get them. thinking about using them on the 007 or some frankenphones

Stax don't want you to change them so they are hard to get.

The pcb sold above comes from that article so I'd assume they match.

if that schematic is correct, the moron is reverse biasing the diaphragm.

massive bad

But... but.. it sorta works....   :chair:

Sure, grounding one stator also works but sounds like shit.  Just ask the Audio Valve fanboy...  ;D

I thought Audio Valve stole most of the ideas off the original Stax SRX circuit and tried" to make one himself?

Looking for Stax Normal BIAS teflon jacks ... the PROs are easy to find, but I haven't had any luck searching the NBs ....anyone?

Normal bias sockets no longer available and probably won't be made again.

As for the Audio Valve, it has literally nothing to do with the SRX.
