February 25, 20179 yr Grilled chicken marinated in BBQ sauce overnight. First grilling of 2017. So tasty
February 25, 20179 yr Wow those look amazing, unfortunately still a little too cold to grill outside here.
February 26, 20179 yr Orange beef (ribeye) and bok choy with oyster sauce. Last minute pic before consumption. That looks good. I need to start trying recipes beyond my usual. My problem is Gail is such a picky eater. Smoking short ribs. Two hours in. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
February 26, 20179 yr Those ribs are going to be tasty, I'll bet. I think Gail would like those two dishes because they are not particularly challenging. I made the beef with less spice because Alden doesn't do spicy foods, and it was still tasty and we all liked it.
March 5, 20179 yr Garlic/pepper/orange beef -- fucking perfect, tender, yet well done. Didn't marinate for one second, just threw a little bit of orange juice into my usual hoisin garlic/pepper/more garlic/touch of fish sauce concoction.
March 11, 20179 yr Red beans and rice using my new instant pot. Threw a little smoked paprika in it to replace the flavor bacon and ham hocks would provide. Turned out pretty good, and was super quick compared to normal beans and rice.
March 13, 20179 yr It's so good... I kept it simple this time. 3 lb boston butt 1 cup apple cider vinegar 1 tbsp minced garlic Rubbed it in "Butt Rub" BBQ seasoning, plus smoked paprika, and 3 chopped vietnamese peppers 90 minutes under pressure.
March 13, 20179 yr I'm definitely going to give carnitas a shot this way. Next will be lamb vindaloo.
March 14, 20179 yr bison/okra/stroganoff-y thing -- didn't have mushrooms, so added cream of mushroom, and reduced it more, added extra black pepper and garlic, came out delicious, and now I have enough for a week.
March 14, 20179 yr 4 minutes ago, swt61 said: You lost me at okra. It's an amazing thickener, which would be great for stroganoff. Have you ever had tempura okra, Steve? Or the traditional blackened? Okra is also delicious stuffed with cheese and battered and deep-fried. Of course, an acorn would be delicious stuffed with cheese and battered and deep-fried.
March 14, 20179 yr I've heard it can be good, but the only way I've had it is slimey. Not that I'm against everything that's slimey, but Okra for sure.
